I had a nice Sunday drive today in the Thunderhorse. A nice black 350Z pulled up next to me on one of the main roads here, and we just cruised together for a solid 5 minutes. It was just nice to be in the company of another fun car, even though the 350 and the Mustang are so entirely different. We exchanged a few high rpm passes, and a thumbs up. I have to say, in the end, cars are cars. Whether they're American, German, Japanese... whatever... they are still what, at least for me, makes weekends and sunny afternoons fun. One of these days I'm gonna take the Caddy on a road trip, probably 150 miles or so away from here.... just to enjoy the company of the car and the people at my destination.
p.s. Even though I appreciate all cars, I'll always be an American-first kind of guy

Another stoplighter versus a turbo civic. I didn't even realize he wanted to race, I had moderate acceleration up to 30, but he stepped on it, so I did as well. I overtook him at about 50mph in 2nd gear. These things are fun, but I always try to be careful. Stay safe guys = ]

Today I was actually car shopping, but on the way there, I encountered a modified Audi S4. I had the opportunity to pull up on him at a stoplight, head to head. It was the older version, so it had a turbo 6? Anyways, he had the jump on the green light, but quite frankly, I left him for dead when I shot it into 2nd gear. Ahhh yes.

Wow. I had the pleasure of driving a Lexus IS-F, brand new, for my own pleasure today. I really am not a fan of Lexus, but this thing is a rocket, and in the words of a good friend, "this isn't a Lexus... it's something different." I had her up to 95mph, at that point it got scary. That thing had endless pull. What an experience... 8 gears. The first 6 were fun, I found 7 and 8 unnecessary. I can't wait for my next test drive!

Ah, tonight was awesome. I had the opportunity to drive the CTS-V, and of course I was presented with a straightaway. I wasn't watching my speed, but in my 1st to 2nd shift, I had so much power I fishtailed in 2nd. That was so awesome. 400hp and 400 lb-ft of torque never felt so awesome. (Traction Control kept me in tact if you were wondering).

This weekend was a good one for the annual "everyone bring out your summer car day" in the north. The sunny weather and mild temps allowed for some fun encounters. I was in the passenger seat of a 2005 Cadillac CTS-V, and we were lucky enough to play around with a Saleen Mustang S281 for a little while. It was all pretty safe because there wasn't much traffic, and it was in a rural area. It was just fun to open the V up, especially the 2nd to 3rd throw, which is around 70mph. The Saleen kept up well, but I think we pulled a little faster given that it wasn't the supercharged S281. I recommend only doing this when it's safe, and we never hit triple digits. When it comes to this stuff, safety is first.
