New Engine, potentially new job
Posted On 06/03/2008 20:42:09 by mesarius
My engine finally came today after weeks of juggling finances, loads of phone calls, even the engine getting lost for a week.  There wasn't even too much damage to it considering the place I bought it from didn't even put it in a crate.  The wastegate actuator is trashed, exhaust guard is bashed, and a couple of connectors on the japanese wiring harness are smashed but the engine itself looks beautiful.  All the damage is easily fixed with all the parts I kept so that's no problem... factory A-body rear discs
Posted On 05/20/2008 13:20:06 by MY69GOAT
For those of you with an A-body looking to upgrade to rear disc brakes, look for a 94-96 impala or late model caprice 9C1 police package. The rear ends of all impala's for those years are factory disc, 10 bolt rears. Some of the 9C1's have the same rear end. They all carry 3.08 gears, but are still lsd's. Millerstown Riverfest

So, I went to this little car show today, the 1st annual Millerstown Riverfest and Car Show. Nothing huge, just a little county car show. Descent turn out though. A vast array of cars did show up for this event even though it was not widely publicized. There were the muscle cars, hot rods, race cars and pickups one would normally expect to see at such a show like this as well as a few oddities. While I do not believe that adding a GT racing spoiler and seat covers to an 89 Ford Probe means you s... Read More

Bits and pieces.
Posted On 05/16/2008 02:38:37 by mesarius
Well, my busted up 4g63t is all but out at this point.  The alternator, power steering pump, AC compressor, cylinder head, starter, and rad are all out, all that remains in the car is the block, transmission and a few wires and hoses.  I pulled the cam shafts, rockers and lifters out of the head and set those aside as they will be making their way to ebay.  The cylinder head will probably go to a recycler since it has some stripped out holes, one of which being a spark plug tunnel... Lexus IS-F
Posted On 05/15/2008 20:53:11 by apolloGT
Wow. I had the pleasure of driving a Lexus IS-F, brand new, for my own pleasure today. I really am not a fan of Lexus, but this thing is a rocket, and in the words of a good friend, "this isn't a Lexus... it's something different." I had her up to 95mph, at that point it got scary. That thing had endless pull. What an experience... 8 gears. The first 6 were fun, I found 7 and 8 unnecessary. I can't wait for my next test drive! ... Read More
