ABOUT ME
My name's David, 21 years old. I like quiet walks in the park at sunset, waltzing through flowers... no seriously I like music, cars, clubs, and life. I own a 1993 Eagle Talon TSi-AWD currently in the process of a JDM VR4 swap due to the previous owner going cheap on an engine rebuild and the shop that did the rebuild not knowing what they were doing. I am a drummer with 12 years of experience, playing generally music of the Metal variety, however I also like going to clubs and enjoying the nightlife. My favorite color is Neon green, both of my cars are green, however I don't have a lick of Irish in me. I'm currently going to the University of Iowa in Iowa city as a Geography major, however I don't plan on using that degree. I like to go crusing, browsing car lots at night when there are no sales people to bother me, I like playing my drumset and hanging out with cool people.
My AIM is DJMesarius, I have MSN and Yahoo but I never use them. Hit me up, especially if you reside in the Eastern Iowa area, we can go crusing and blast some Hondas. My typical wolf pack includes a bolt-on 2006 Subaru WRX, 200x Dodge Intrepid with extensive audio and ground effects work, Honda CBR600 rocket and my own personal 6-bolt TSi when it isn't broken (a 2002 Dodge Stratus R/T when the DSM is broken).
Present mods to the Talon:
JDM EvoIII 4G63T "red top" (being dropped in now)
JDM AWD Auto trans.
Light weight CV shafts
Weight reduction.
Hacked MAF can
K&N cone filter.

Okay...here's the group description from FaceBook...
Combine RAGRBRAI, Chess, and a bunch of sweet cars with the wildest day's worth of adventure you can find in the great state of Iowa, and you have the 20/30 Road Rally. This Road Rally is a competitive timed event where teams compete AGAINST each other by attempting to travel to each Rally leg (checkpoint to checkpoint) in the audited time. Rally route is undisclosed and revealed to each team throughout the day. And no worries...this one is completely LEGAL!
Also--all the proceeds go to Iowa charities!!! That's right. No person is making money off of this event. In fact, the cruise-ins throughout the summer(next one is May 15th at Firkin' & Fox West Des Moines) and the Rally itself all are ways to raise capital for Central Iowa charities. 20/30 is an organization that gives 100% of its membership dues back into the community to make it better for OUR generation! If you want to help figure out where the money should go, you join 20/30. Go to www.dm2030society.org to sign up. We've given over $35,000 since the beginning of last year, and hope to give that much away in 2008. We like to help the down and out, and the places that make our city COOL. We've given grants to The Des Moines Art Center and Art Noir, The Des Moines Public Library for Speaking Series, The Des Moines Playhouse, The Des Moines Symphony, Hawthorne Hill Women's Shelter, Ingersoll Restoration, Des Moines Music Coalition (DMMC), and Creative Visions (for GED grants and Job Interview Grants). This is not a list of ALL grants received... just a few cool ones.
Great for father/son day, brothers day, buddies day, and date day (first dates may be challenging!). No vehicle limitations (though we will be traveling interstates--you need to be able to travel 45 mph!). Whether you have a 1978 postal truck , a 1963 Land Rover Series IIa, a Honda Civic, a Maserati, or a 2008 Mosler, your entry is welcome! Get in now to get the cheapest rates possible! Email us @ 2030roadrally@gmail.com for a signup sheet. Exotic Cars, Classic Cars, Sports Cars, SUVs, Eclectic Cars--ALL CARS!!! And get signed up quick...the earlier you sign up...the cheaper it is and trust me an entire day's worth of mind-boggling entertainment will be completely worth it!!!
hahah well there's a big difference in cars! No Opel could ever pose off as a Ferrari, haha but that's funny! and I love the taillights on the mantas, they're pretty nice.
Auto with a trans-go shift kit. but im actually looking at a racing transmission, to help with low end torque/power. i think beefed up injectors and a MSD Distributor would help to so those are in the works too.
sry this took awhile to get back. i have a 2g eclipse rs. its nothing special but i love the potential. i want to go turbo but its something to work on.
In a perfect world I hope to get at least 500 out of her
You can easily do 500, especially since you're running front wheel drive. I'm going for 400 because any more than that and I really have to start worrying about blowing transfer cases and rear ends since I'm running AWD. I don't need insane amounts of power, I don't plan on racing it really, just a good kick in the pants and the joy of blasting every other car at a stop light is all I need.
I don't plan on having it as a race car. Just a very hot street machine
Sounds to me like it'll kick my car's ass for at least a while. This summer I'm just focusing on my engine and transmission swap and some brakework. Are you going with the John Shepherd dog box or a staged reconditioning?
It's not gonna be done for a while, so I would say your car will kick ass first
I'm probably gonna go with the stage 2 FWD reconditioning. It's got the LSD
It'll kick ass first, but I'm not going to be building it anywhere near the sort of power you're after. I was going to shoot for 400hp and call it at that. I'm just doing bolt ons with this car
400 is a good number, gonna be quick!

DSM eh? Fantastic choice. Are you running an AWD or FWD? What have you done to it so far?
"Running" is a poor choice for a word, lol. "Sitting", is more like it It's a FWD. I bought it really before I knew anything about DSM's. Started learning more about em, as well as looking deeper into what had been "done" to the car. Ya, I got had in a big way I haven't really done anything to it persay, other than strip the interior and get the motor ready to be pulled. Hopefully I will make some progress this summer. I noticed you have a Talon. Mods?
No mods, just like yours my AWD talon is sitting. I had to drain all the fluids today because it was dumping oil and transmission fluid all over my driveway. It's waiting for an engine swap, up until this point the only mods it had were a 6-bolt swap and a K&N filter. I'm doing a JDM 6-bolt swap with yellow top injectors, high flow fuel pump, and possibly a 5-speed conversion next month. Beyond that, the plan is an Apexi N1 turbo-back system and loads of body work. What are the plans for your DSM?
Ah, where to begin This could get long
I'll just go with plans for this summer. Pretty much I wanna get the suspension and brakes done. Stainless steel lines, Brembo upgrade, bushings, coil-overs, etc. Long term, MONSTER motor. Looking to put out some high HP numbers Full roll cage, racing seats and harnesses, custom dash, Shep Racing tranny, etc. You get the idea
