Default I think I broke the motor in the Vette! OOOPS!

Well it was warm (50 degrees) on Thanksgiving day so I decided to dig the car out of the garage and drive it to Thanksgiving dinner.

I was screwing around on the way there and seems I have hurt the motor in the car. Started as a TICK TICK and now is a KNOCK RATTLE KNOCK RATTLE. All indications point to a broke piston.

Just a FYI: Cold tires + Cold pavement + WOT launch = EXCESSIVE RPM

Looks like I will be building another motor sooner than I thought. Good thing member GOAT1966 is going to give me a 80% discount on the engine build. I think he will need some help putting his GN back together so that should be worth another 10% discount

I was trying to decide between a 421 or 383 SB. Looks like it will be a 383 with the D1 procharger. OH! and a rev limiter. With the 90% discount should have less than 2K in the build!

yeah, it would be too far behind to see in the mirrors, you'll have to turn around and use those binoculars, lol

There are some fast Mustangs out there, most of them have a SC or a Turbo strapped to them to make up the lack of CI and torque that Ford motors are lacking.

I am sure there are a few stangs around here that could autrun me until there is a twisty in the road. I get bored going in a straight line anyways.

lol well.... put a 5.0 block in and they'll get plenty of torque... the 03-04 cobras as well as the 2000 have sweet engines... the 2000 has an aluminum block... so its got power and weight on its side :-)

I agree the allum block is a advantage in weight however it is still just 302 cubic inches and you are not going to build big TQ numbers with that little displacement without putting some kind of forced air in it.

Keep in mind, Horsepower sells cars, Torque wins races.
