Maybe check the pulleys, make sure they aren't dented in or the shafts aren't bent, especially on the power steering pump pulley. Also since it is a new belt it is possible that the inner circumference that actually makes contact with the pulleys is too wide and is riding up the side. Also while i am thinking of it, make sure they bolted the power steering pump back down tightly, that could be shifting under power and causing the belt to lose tension. If I remember right there should be three bolts holding that on.

This happened to my 97 GS-T. It turned out to be the crank pulley. The crank pulleys are actually two separate pieces bonded together. It's not a very noticeable thing when they start coming apart. I had problems keeping my belts on for about 7 months before I finally found my crank pulley coming apart. Try to wiggle the outside of the pulley before you put the belts on next time, and I mean yank on it. Don't use a hammer or any thing, but if you get any movement, it needs replaced. If there is no movement that way, jack up the front of the car or put it on ramps or something. You will also need to take of the plastic cover that is over the crank pulley because you need to see the pulley from the front. With NO belts on, start the car (leave it in park or neutral w/ e-brake on and chocked rear wheels). Go out to the front of the car and watch the pulley at idle without any tension on it. If it flops or vibrates, replace it. I stress that you do these things without the belts on because the tension the belts create (if this is the problem) will pull constantly on the bottom of the pulley and cause the pulley to be running on a constant angle to which you will never be able to tell if that is your problem.

Good luck, hope this helps.

I would have to here it to better say what it might be, but you'll want to check the wheel bearings. What speed does it start to "wobble" at. Are you talking about a vibration or an actual wobble?

Assuming we are still talking about the wheel vibrating.... Do you mean above a certain speed (wheel rpm) or above a certain engine rpm in each gear? Am I also to assume it is a fwd car or is it GS-X?

Again, it would help if I knew which rpm you're referring to, engine or wheel? A good place to start is with the wheel bearings and check the drums for out of round. Also check the wheels and tires. I assume you had them checked for balancing, but check the rims for dents and bends. Also check the tires for flat spots and bulges. After that my suggestion would be to inspect all of the rear suspension parts to make sure nothing is bent or broken that could be allowing movement and giving you the "wobble". After that do a rear alignment. Everybody's always worried about the front end alignment and neglects the rear end in the process.

After reading what you put on the AllData forum. I suspect you have some brake warpage issues. Also, since you said its a 96, have you had the suspension looked at by an experienced technician? There was a recall on some ball joints, I believe, a few years back for the 95-99 eclipses. You should contact your local dealer about that cuz if they find the ball joints to be bad, they replace them at no cost to you. I think I still have the recall paper they sent me. I'll try to find it to give you the info, but the dealer should have record of that recall. Either way, it's probably a good idea to get it checked out cause it's no fun having a wheel come off the car at highway speed.

ok i fixed the rear hub and the car rides like a dream now and the front stopped shaking because i found out that there was only ONE lug nut that was tight on both front wheels....

and i just replaced the front brake pads and now it shakes at 70 mph +

so im thinking that the rotors are **** because the old brake pads were awful

but the car runs way better now and i have to get a new under drive pulley

SUV I own suffers the problem of weird noise from engine that increases when I put the engine on gas. For that I am in a search of some good mechanic that can provide quality services in reasonable pricing. Can you suggest me something?
