Flaming board

Well, seeing as how people have opinions (yeah, weird, I know), people also disagree. People also like to argue, and turn things a little more personal than perhaps they should. I am suggesting a boards specifically where people can flame the hell out of each other, to keep the rest of the forum clean. At least there people can tear each other's heads off without ruining things for everyone else.

Does this sound reasonable?

Only if it really works. Maybe if they realize they're going to start going off on another rant they should tell the other person to meet them here.

I like this idea. It makes it really hard to converse about the initial topic when people are busy bashing eachother. I ignore the Ford board completely now because it's just one giant flame fest, it takes all the fun out of talking about cars when there is so much negativity going around the board.

One of the things to think about, especially if we want Gears Garage to grow, is that it needs to establish a system to redirect hostility in a constructive manner. A flaming board is one option, and I've seen it on many forums (including some that I've moderated). As the active numbers increase other mechanisms will need to be in place as a safety measure. But, those will come in time. For now, all we need is somewhere to vent. If Gears or Johnny put up a Flaming Board, people will immediately know it's there, so I think people will use it if need be (or when).

Might be a possibility.

I was thinking more like punishing flamers by altering their profile pic and putting a cute little pink dress on them for a day or so... or maybe photoshop out their bag of Doritos until they starve and promise to be nice

ps - you also need to add some new smilies, like one rolling on the floor laughing, or one that laughs itself to death. I would be using a few of those about now LOL!
