Default 1500hp Chevelle In the Making

My neighbor is currently building a 1970 Chevelle that will have around 576 cubic inches along with a Procharger S/C. The car will be fully streetable with full exhaust and EFI. (The EFI will allow for a smaller hood, hence better view for the driver). It has full interior, roll cage, and Auto-Meter Phantom gauges. The gas tank was going to be kept and used, but in order for it to be a bit more streetable he had to replace it with a fuel cell so there would be more room for exhaust. I'm pretty sure it will have a 3-speed manual-automatic CO2 transmission. It will be on street legal tires when raced also. Hopefully it will be a consistant 8-second car if all goes as planned. The engine is currently being built and all the body work is done. Look for pictures this summer!

Sounds like she's gonna be a beast of a street car. I assume he's tubbing it out? A '70 Chevelle can only fit around 10 inches of tread inside it's fenders without tubbing and it sounds like he's gonna need a lot more than that to hook it up.

No tubbing at all. Those 10.5 cars can run 6's and there are similar cars that make 8's look pretty easy with a setup that is about the same. I'm assuming he will be using E. T. Steets. He runs 7's in his other car with those(except wider).

Quoting myself : " (The EFI will allow for a smaller hood, hence better view for the driver)."

Unless I don't understand your question, I think that answers it.

Chevelle is an American alternative metal trio that formed in 1995 in Grayslake, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. The band was originally composed of two brothers and a local friend: Pete Loeffler (lead vocals/guitar), Sam Loeffler (drums/percussion), and Matt Scott[2] (bass/backing vocals). Matt was later replaced by brother Joe Loeffler. When Joe left the band in 2005, Geno Lenardo subbed-in as the bassist until he was replaced by Pete and Sam's brother-in-law, Dean Bernardini.
