Default GM's UAW workers go on strike!

Here are some links with the story:

Money.CNN.com - 73,000 workers walk in nationwide GM strike
MSNBC.msn.com - GM workers strike to keep jobs in the U.S.

What are your opinions on this? Do you think this is just a short term thing that will only last a few days at most, or do you think this will get ugly?

I don't think it'll last long. I am pretty sure we'll be hearing that they struck an agreement very soon. They are just feeling each other out. The UAW has to know that GM is really hurting financially and that they can't push very hard, but they need to get the best deal they can from GM because it will be a template for the upcoming contracts with Ford and Chrysler.

Default Whah Whah Whah, I want my milk and Cookies!!!!!!!

Is this not a clear example of the ignorant overconfidence that the BABY BOOMERS have been displaying for their entire life. Good luck to the future generations. There will still be manufacturing jobs... with foreign companies!!!!!!!!!!!! The crappy thing is there will not be Corvettes.

Chrysler is next. The UAW gave Chrysler a deadline on Wednesday to strike a deal.

FORD move assemble plant to Mexican. Forecast: 1,000,000 employed to build factory and worker, plus all the other Bell and Whistle that goes with cooperation Mission.

This is what you call. To be en-power with dollars from the American people to fine a cheaper form of labor. no matter what the worker TRULY believe about liberty.

This is also building the backs of the North American Union. Build the economy of the two border nation by having the U.S. in debt. Announce The Formation of the NAW and make the AMEIRO the dollar of the land, since the U.S. paper dollar is/will be beaten to 3rd world value. The merger of three nation (cooperation like) will now join it asset and back the nation with a new dollar "AMEIRO". They will never explain what happen to the American people gold and the same will happen to the U.S. paper dollar. I just love to hear the economist and Stock broker explain it ,the same people who sell cooperate interest to banker and rich gods.

the U.S. Constitution is under attack from cooperate giants, who feed off your intrest/dollars.

Unions always fail. They prohibit automakers to really make the best stuff they can by hurting them with tons and tons of provisions and "laws". GM and Ford don't make a bad product.. they're losing money because of the unions. Unions had a place in the early 20th century, but now, in my opinion, they belong in China. They don't work much at all, always complain, and suck every last dollar there is out of a company.
