Default Buick ties Lexus in vehicle dependability study

Buick tied Lexus for the top spot in JD Power and Associates 2007 vehicle dependability study. Cadillac takes third.

Half of the top 10 are US manufacturers.

Its nice to see lincoln and mercury in there too. so apparently imports arent more dependable as their reputation states. It seems the big 3 can keep up with them just fine. They just need to work on their reputation and get credit for it.

I don't know about that list. I have been a long time Nissan buyer and they've alwasy been very dependable. Look at Volkwagen at the bottom. I have a few Volkswagen buddies and they are super reliable too probably even more so than my Nissans.

Yeah, The list certainly isn't what most would expect. I dunno anything about Nissan's reliability, but I've always been under the impression that Volkwagen would be towards the top aswell. I am always reading about old Volkswagens setting mileage records.

It's possible marketing is playing more of a part in our our opinions than we think... or maybe there is a larger short term fluctuation in a carmakers reliability than one might think.... or maybe JD Powers' studies are flawed.

Wow so many American cars up there at the top! I'm amazed actually. I had a good chuckle over Land Rover being dead last.

cars are not people

I have been a automotive tech for 18 yrs. working on euro, jap,us, and other model. the car company make car to meet standard and buget. look at this video.

Video: 2001 Lamborghini vs. Old School CRX - Category: RACING » Gears Garage

point proofing.

hands to Horsepower, which i feel belong to the american. Big cubic inch will win drag race. can you imagine what will happen when turbocharge and perfectly tuned...?.

The new car. we are seeing tons of problem. the automaker are replacing steel and aluminum parts with ABS plastic. . if i do recall plastic and heat don`t see eye to eye. I can understand using plastic parts on the exteior of the car. Today cars are not build to last, it build to recycle.

I like american cars, but i have not truly experance the high end jap and euro car. Am i missing anything?

I will like to see a LEXUS (LEXASS) do this.

http://febusfilms.com/ideo8.wmv

I don`t care how much horsepower you make. "POWER WITH OUT CONTROL IS NOTHING". The 80`s Buick feature a 4 link rear suspension (OEM) factory. the BEST form of suspension when it comes to drag-racing. Please take a look at the TOP-FUEL-DRAGSTER, and find out what kind of rear suspension they use?. lets not forget dragster going 5 seccond in the 1/4 at 300+mph.

Buick 80`s technology is still a WINNER today.

AMERICAN ARE THE KING OF CARS. the car was invented by an American for American to drive hundreds and hundreds of mile on american road.

the other car company are pushing CHEAP/ECONO BOX has a form of saving gasoline (THE KING OF ENERGY).
good luck with other form of energy. gasoline be here for over 100 yrs. why are we looking for new form of energy?...... the earth is getting warmer, and so are all the other planet in the solar system (NASA). they just found water on mars, mars use to be a planet of ice.

"MY LIFE IS WORTH MORE THAN GASOLINE"
this is the reason i drive a pure American car that is build of pure American steel.
todays car are made of re-cycle steel (a weaker form when compare to iron)

get a load of buick in ACTION
