Default Buick Regal GS

It was announced a few weeks ago that the Buick Regal GS was going to be coming out for the 2011 model year. I've heard a few different reports with regards to the powertrain, everything from a 280hp 3.6V6 and a 2.0 Turbo putting out around 255hp. My bet is on the turbo-4, though the rest of the car is essentially the same thing as the Opel Insignia OPC. So the same Brembo brake set-up, the same all-wheel-drive set up, and the European build quality and material quality in essentially an Executive saloon.

I know when this car comes out I am planning on test driving it, I am very interested in it in fact, but what are your thoughts? (Euro members- What's your thought on the Opel/Vauxhall version? Any good?)

I'm euro!! I like opel/vauxhall they seem to have good quality. Of course I'd rather have an Audi but whatev, haha. I would love to see a Grand National throw back, (growls "badass") but I'm not expecting one. My shop class has a 90's buick regal GSE and I really like the sleeper look it has.

Cliff notes: Bring on the re-birth of high performance Buick!!

GM's intention for Buick is to be a Lexus fighter. For the most part, elderly wealthy people buy Lexus cars. GM obviously wants Cadillac to become a brand of desire by all ages, like BMW and Mercedes-Benz. That's why Buick is now flush with nice interiors, smaller engines, and a huge focus on ride quality over performance.

There is no doubt that the GS rectifies many of the performance problems found in the standard Regal Turbo. Its added power, stiffer suspension and manual gearbox will now attract some enthusiasts back to Buick
