Things are just getting started

Quote:
The Nissan GT-R's 7:29 lap record won't stand for long if Chevrolet has anything to say about it. Speaking with InsideLine, Corvette Chief Engineer, Tadge Jeuchter, says that the ZR1, "will be able to take the production-car track record at any racetrack," and that although Chevy doesn't have a production version of the uber-Vette at the Nurburgring yet, they're expecting a lap time of "seven minutes, twenty-something seconds." That sounds like smack-talk to us. But while the ZR1 might have the potential to best the GT-R's 'Ring time, the 550-600 hp elephant in the room is the forthcoming GT-R V-Spec, which is already putting down (roughly-timed) laps around the North Loop in the 7:25 realm. Let the battle begin. We're making popcorn now.

I doubt the ZR1 will beat the lap time based on the fact that the Vette will overpower every corner since it's more of a straight away car than a circuit car

Nurbugring. The most challenging track in the world. And I compared those cars to a Z06, not even a ZR1

I seriously question the reliablility and accuracy of this information seeing as how you favor the Corvette like a god.

7:42.9 - 160.21 km/h -- Corvette Z06, 500 PS/1319 kg, Jan Magnusen, (Sporbilen, jun,26 05) SUPERCARS.NET - Community Forums
7:43.5 - 160,00 km/h -- Lamborghini Murcielago (Autocar magazine 02)

the z06 got the murcie by .6 of a second. However I wish to point out that Apollo argued the Murcielago, NOT the LP640 which unofficially did a 7:40 (manufacturer claim)

7:40* -- 161.22 km/h – Lamborghini Murcielago LP640, 640 PS/1655 kg (AutoBild sportscars 01/07) *mfr., company test driver Giorgio Sanna

And for the record:

7:28* -- 166.65 km/h -- Porsche Carrera GT, 612 PS/ 1475 kg, * company test driver Walther Roehrl (Autobild 07/04)

Track times: Nurburgring Track Times - Supercars.net

Yeah well, I've proved you wrong many times before, but you just kinda give up. This isn't worth arguing.
