Default Test Drives

Test Drive anything fun lately? Just today I went out for a cruise in a 2007 Infinity G35 Coupe and 2003 Corvette Z06.

Oh man, I can't even begin to list the cars I've driven in the last year! I used to work for a high end body shop, right in the neighborhood where all the rich folk lived. Here's a few of the most notable cars:

numerous Infiniti G35s
Dodge Viper SRT10 roadster
Saleen S281 convertible
1993 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 coupe
Lexus SC430
BMW X5
Mercedes-Benz GL320
Shelby GT350 replica
Mini Cooper S convertible

how was the Z06? My dad drove one with me when I was 13. If I remember correctly, it was awesome! haha.. the only unfortunate part was that it was an absolute downpour, so we couldnt really open it up.

The Z06 jumped right up to the top of my list for cars to buy. It was glorious, especially with the aftermarket exhaust this one had. I had never heard so much popping on the run down like what I got compression braking in that car. Once I get a Jeep or something to haul my drumset and stuff around I'll trade in the Monte for either a C5 corvette or a new Camaro.

Now that I work at a car dealership (Honda dealership in fact), my test drives have jumped significantly. Just since I started:

Acura TSX
Acura TL
Acura MDX
Honda Civic Si
Honda Accord V6
Civic and Accord lower models
2004 WRX STi
Nissan Maxima V6
Pontiac Grand Prix GXP
Lotus Elise
Cadillac STS
BMW 325xi

And then of course every new Honda with the exception of the Crosstour, we don't get those until next month.

How much driving do you get in these cars? Just a quick parking lot to inside work garage or are you able to take them around the block?

The Elise has an insane amount of get up. It was a N/A car and that still had enough to get up to 110 on the on ramp to the interstate near my dealership.

I'm actually on the sales floor so I get to take them around the block, appraise them, run errands in them, take them across town to my apartment on my lunch breaks, basically everything but take them home overnight. I'm one of only a few of the sales guys with a clean enough driving record to take the cars off the lot, so whenever we need something even as simple as gas in a car someone else is delivering then I'm one of the guys they ask. Some of the cars that were customer cars, like the Cadillac and BMW I only took around the lot because they had one of our cars overnight and I we pull theirs inside overnight, so I have to be careful with those and not thrash them.
