Out of that group I had to go with the Nissan.
It was the best balance of power and handeling and looks in that list.

I'm really biased, and for me it would be between Mustang GT or Camaro. The Camaro is really tempting, given that it has IRS, but my heart still lies with the Mustang. It's good for sub 5 second 0-60s stock, and being "fully loaded", it has a lot of really nice options. The 4.6L 3V is truly a great engine to modify, as would be the LS3. The newest motor trend deemed the genesis subpar to the Mustang GT, even in skidpad. Not bad for a live axle. I think more people will be saying Mustang when the new V8s come out next year =) Props to all these new coupes.. they're all awesome. Great time to buy.

I'd go with the camaro as long as I can get the 6 speed, but does it have to be red?

That is the thing, the car in the picture says "base model" indiacating it is a V6 and not a LS3.
OOPS my bad it said SS! Guess I should have looked at it a little closer!
I still stick with the Nissan weight/HP is a better balance and car handles better.

The large power advantage of the Camaro seals the deal for me... along with the head turning you get with a completely new model.
Power
Camaro: 426HP
370Z: 332HP
Mustang: 315HP
Genesis: 306HP

Yeah, I'd probably go with the Camaro with the 370Z as a close second.

true, but the Camaro weighs a significant amount more than the Mustang. Plus, I bed a new GT with a few exterior mods (but I'd hope that the owner would do the fast bits first) would turn heads.
You're right though, the LS3 IMO is the best base LS engine ever offered.

I would go for the Nissan followed in second by the Genesis. I really like where Hyundai is going with the Genesis but given Hyundai's history, even though they have improved greatly over the years I would still wait and see how it does for reliability before buying a new one. I wouldn't get the Camaro because that V8 puts a lot of weight in the front and being just a standard spec I would personally want my Camaro fully loaded, and I would like a couple more than two valves per cylinder so I can get a few more revs out of it and lower the displacement some. The Mustang is a great improvement over previous year's cars but the Achiles heel is still that rear suspension.
The Nissan is modern, sporty, looks great, and spec'd just how I would want a sports car. It's still a little fat but it is more practical than the 350 and looks loads better, plus has a great sound and loads of potential to be a potent corner not just in a straight line but well mannered in the corners as well even with light mods.

I'm actually really excited to check all of these cars out. Once some things calm down at school a little I'm going to take an afternoon and test drive the Camaro. I'm really curious to see how it drives.
I drove a 350Z and it was a great car (handling, power and looks), so I know the 370 i an even better one. I'd like to check it out too...
In regards to the Mustang, I like it, and I like the design improvements for this year.. but it's just not for me. I want a car with IRS.

Until you're at a stoplight in your Genesis

? What will that prove? Just because the Mustang is faster taking off does not make it a superior car no more than the 400HP in the 3800LB Camaro. Put the cars through ALL performance areas and see how they stack up.
Put the two cars on a track with some tight turns and some fast sweeping turns and see how they stack up. A light to light street race does not prove anything.

I don't know about you, but when I lose at a stoplight race it's frustrating! No one wants to face a faster car in their class than their own, although it's simply a reality. The Mustang, as I said before, is stickier to the road more so than the Genesis AND 370Z on the skidpad (see Motor Trend's latest issue). Yes, through a slalom, the 370Z is superior, but overall, the Genesis falls behind in this group. I still maintain the live axle in any situation you would see on public roads is mind over matter, and still yet, the Mustang would be faster around a track than the Genesis, and the Camaro faster than the 370Z.
I'm a twisty track guy too, but c'mon, there's something to be said for a car that can pull like mad and still be good on turns, maybe not the best, but good. Like I said, you'll never see the twisty-potential in any sort of street encounter, that's why it matters.

Well, I suppose it's what is important to you.
I appreciate handling, but since all the roads here are straight, flat grids... I get to experience straight line performance much more often than handling performance. Therefor I put a lot more importance on straight line performance than I do on handling. I would guess the opposite would be true for someone who lives in a hilly, curvy area.
