build-it-yourself cars are a cool idea, but then again, if they were that good, wouldn't real performance enthusiasts buy them instead of a Viper, Z06, GTR, 911 Carrera S etc ?

Meh. I don't like the looks. Can't argue with that performance though.

I'd rather take a Caterham though.

?? It has over 500HP and weights under 3K. I imagine the reason they used the LS is for the weight of it. It is a light powertrain that makes decent numbers. I am sure it would handle like a bus with the weight of a 428 in the back of it. It all boils down to power/weight ratio.

Most people stay away from hand built cars because it is hard to find parts or a dealer if you need to repair something. Most of these cars also have few comforts that the production cars do and some are not even street legal in the US because the do not meet federal regulations.

I have been able to drive a ATOM and ride in a ultima GTR and I can tell you these hand built cars are built for 1 thing only, to go fast!

lol i agree but i would want an awesome FORD engine in it.. and the weight centered above the back wheels would add traction... i would at least twin turbo it then it would be so fast people wouldn't know what to say .... i like the cars because it gives people the materials to build their own car... and this car comes with A/C but is kinda ugly on the inside... and hey add the Ford GTX1 and Ford GT to your list of performance cars....
