Question This I Believe

Okay so in my english class we are to write a paper called the "I Believe" paper basically telling what I believe or what I have come to learn about the world.

well I only have a little bit done but I wanted to get what y'all thought so far

No matter what it is, whether it is Cars, planes, watches, or maybe even lint, if it’s your passion pursue it. If you have a dream no matter how dumb it may seem, work to make it a reality. I get so angry when I talk to somebody and they tell me their passion and a Dream they have and then they say something to the affect of, “But it’ll never happen.” It’s just wrong to me.
I mean I’m 17 years old and I am a huge exotic car freak, emphasis on freak. When I was 15 I discovered this and I set a couple of goals for me, they are dreams of mine I want to make a reality. My first goal is to sit in/ start up/ drive/ ride in as many exotic cars as I can before I die. While the other one is that I dream to work on DeLoreans, at DeLorean Motor Co. California, which I might add is becoming more and more a reality every Monday and Tuesday, thanks to my senior project.
When I first told some people my dreams they laughed at me, they said, “that’s stupid,” but I wasn’t going to believe them and just up and quit I have worked hard to fulfill my dreams, even though they are still far from being a full reality I have come a long way. For example since I set out to sit in/ drive/ start up/ ride in all the exotic cars I can I have sat in 46, Exotic cars ridden in 5, started up 5, and even driven one.

Good subject and you're on the right track. Make the paper as personal as possible, but remember that repeating phrases and points will make it boring to the reader. If you can make it into one flowing thought, it will be much better received and net you a higher grade. Apart from that and a few grammatical errors, nice piece, and I completely agree with you.

My first goal is to sit in, start up, drive, ride in as many exotic cars as I can before I die.

For example since I set out to sit in, drive, start up, ride in all the exotic cars I can before I die. So far, I have sat in 46 Exotic cars, ridden in 6, started up 5, and even driven two, one Rolls Royce and a DeLorean.

When I can, I go to car shows. But I don’t go for the same reason most other people go. Most people go to see and take pictures of these beautiful cars. I, on the other hand go not only to look at the cars but also to try and sit in them or start them or get a ride in them. This is where my passion comes into play. Let me tell you what I mean, I go to Victoria Gardens one day to pick up my suit, on the way in I spot a low slung silver car. As I get closer I realize that it’s a Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster. I pull over and my mom continues driving. I stand in front of this long low car that looks like its going 150 miles an hour just standing still. And I wait there for two and a half hours, waiting for the owner to come out. When he finally came out my heart was like a 16 cylinder 1001 horsepower engine going full speed as he asked me, “do you have any questions about the car?” there was a few moments of silence before I actually said, “yes, um…. I was wondering…. Because its my birthday on Monday and its always been a dream of mine to get a ride in a Diablo..” and before I could say anything else he said, “sure, can you give me a few minutes?” I politely nodded. A few minutes passed we both opened the scissor doors and got in and he gave me a quick ride in his awesome car.

Bringing you back, this was a dream that I thought would never happen. But, because I was so passionate about the car and I had a goal to work toward I was able to make a dream a reality. If I never had the passion I couldn’t have stood there for the amount of time I did. On the other hand if I didn’t have the goal, but had the passion I might have stood there waiting like I did but I probably would have seen the Diablo drive away along with the chance to have a ride. But I did have the passion and the dreams.

I believe that goals are great only if you have something to support it. I have the goals and the dreams. I even have the Passion to drive me toward my goals. No pun intended. I also know that if you do have a passion and a dream don’t stop yourself by saying it’ll never happen, If its your passion, if its your goal, don’t spend your life dreaming do the best you can to make that dream life.
