Default Tickets

I had my first today =( 49 in a 35, and the only reason it's a 35 is because there's houses on the sides.. apparently, it goes from a 40 to a 35. I felt so annoyed because the truck ahead of me was going the same speed, but because I was in the RIGHT lane, the cop thought I was an easy target. I got it down to a "failure to obey a traffic sign", but being 16, you get screwed if you get a ticket in NY.

Anyways, post up your experiences if you like.

I got hit for 43 in a 25 a few years back. The cop knocked it down to 35 but it was still a $150 ticket. I got a $80 Failure to Yield a couple years before that. I never realized how much those two increased my insurance until they were graduated off my record last spring. I was pulled over a couple weeks ago too, but managed to get out of that one at least.

Never had a speeding ticket. I almost got a DUI though haha. Luckily my mom works for the court and I just had to pay a $100 fine for minor consumption.

dang. I got busted doing 89 in a 55 near Atlanta. I was coming home from my moms house to Nc and i got on the 285 bypass and it goes from 75 to 55 without any warning. So i came around a curve and boom there he was. Had to drive all the way back to atlanta 2 months later, just to have it reduced to $150 and nothing on my record. Lucky me, but cost me some gas. lol

Talk about bad luck. I have yet to get a single ticket, especially with me speeding and also forgetting to move my car to the other side of the street when its time to switch. I've done 40 in 30 MPH areas in Buffalo, Lackawanna, and Blasdell. The cops don't really give a **** and rarely set up speed traps

I used to have somewhat of a "lead foot". Every time I was pulled over for speed was 30+mph over, except one. Tried to nab me with 55 in a 25, But I explained that one down to 10 over. My first was 112 in a 65. 2nd was mentioned above. 3rd was 96 in a 55. 4th was 82 in a 55 and the last one was 98 in a 55 almost 2 years ago. The last one I got reduced to 70 in a 55. I really wasn't trying to speed with that one. I had rented a passat 2.0t while I was home on military leave and was used to the feel of an older car. I don't generally watch my speedo, so with no other cars on the road and the ride being so smooth, I was rolling at close to 100 on the 4-lane highway. Now I make it a point to look down at the speedo occasionally. That's not to say that I don't check my gauges, I do that religiously. I just have a bad habit of not paying attention to the speedo. I just keep a safe speed with the surrounding traffic.

The one in the GTO doesn't work either. That helps alot with the classic car insurance. I can drive as much as I want or need to and I'm still under the mileage requirements.
