Default bigger V-layout engines

does anyone know if they make a V14 or V16 engine? That would be cool to squeeze in a big car. I only heard of someone putting in 2 V8s in a car but that dosent count...

I don't think I've ever seen a V14 in anything, but Cadillac used to a have a V16 back in the 30's. Someone else had a V16 I think, but Ican't remember who.

Cizeta makes a V16. Check out the Moroder V16T: http://www.cizetav16t.com/V16T.html

The Auto Union (now Volkswagen-Audi Group) made one for racing, that slaughtered Mercedes cars, Alfa made two cars in the '30s for the Tripoli Grand Prix, Rolls-Royce had one in the post-war era (the BRM), and Cadillac revived the V16 in 2003 in the General Motors concept car; the Cadillac Sixteen: http://www.rsportscars.com/cadillac/...xteen-concept/

As far as the V14 goes, it has only really been used in large water-born vessels, like yachts and ferries. It doesn't exist in cars yet.

I like the power the Sixteen puts out, I'm not real impressed with the numbers of the Cizeta

Cadillac Sixteen concept was 16 cylinders. The downside is all that weight... I'm a firm believer in the V8-V12 setup

At some point you think the weight and size would just become too great! How huge of a car would you have to have to fit a V-16 or greater in?? It is mind boggling.

There are two things to consider, regarding the Cadillac and the Cizeta. The Cadillac is a luxury sedan, with an identical purpose as Maybach's 67s, NOT as a performance car, so it's weight doesn't matter. With the Cizeta, that car was designed in the mid '80s, discontinued, and brought back in '91. What the car is today is essentially the same car it was in the '80s. So, when you look at it objectively, the Cizeta is a MONSTER for it's respective era. For a car in the '80s to put out over 500bhp, to touch 200mph, and to be as purely fast as that, the Cizeta then is what the Veyron is now. Not only that, for '80s technology to be worthy competition for any supercar by today's standards, that's pretty good.

Why go V16 when you can go W16 and get all the power and displacement of a V with less size and weight?
