Best looking car of all time
What car do you think is the best looking car of all time and why?
I'm torn between the Ferrari F355 and the Jag E-type. The F355 is as simple as can be, no complicated body designs, the curves that it has are smooth and fit well. There aren't any huge gawdy bits on it, it is very discrete and simple. Pop-up headlamps, a simple wedge shape, Ferrari's trademark circular tail lamps. It should look like a pinewood derby car but somehow Pininfarina made something gorgeous with simple geometric tools. I think it all came together right thanks to the correct proportions in the styling. Everything just looks as if it belongs.
The Jag on the other hand reminds me of a playboy hero or savvy spy. It's the sort of car you drive around to pick up chicks in. The round body lines and laid back appearance remind me of the type of person who throws caution in the wind and is just out have a good time. Plus I really dig chrome center locking wire spoke wheels. I'd put some on my car if they wouldn't completely ruin the looks of it, haha.

yeah, I'd have to go with a lot of Johnnyboy's choices. I love the look of aston martins... very muscular and bold, yet refined... correct me on the name, but I believe it was the DB5 (???) that had that staunch muscular look.
Of course American Muscle is my fave, so I'd have to say the split window Sting Ray is one of mine, also I'd go with the new 2009 GT500KR.. that car is art on wheels. As far as Italian design, I think the 1959 Ferrari California GT is the best front end... the rear is a little weird, but overall it's a beautiful car.

There's no question that Ferrari knows how to design a car WELL. As much as I like the Testarossa style (308, 288, 355, 512, and whatever else I've missed), the Marenello takes top spot for me. It leaves the immediate impression (without knowing anything about the car) that it's fast. The style-theme reminds me of a shark, with that aggressive attitude. We all know what a monster the car is (just ask the unfortunate people who have to race against them), and the car looks like it's doing 200+ mph standing still. At the same time, the Marenello has this docile personality, inviting you to take it for a drive. From a design perspective there is nothing at all wrong with the car. It's visually appealing from every angle. The car is absolutely gorgeous.
I think the C6 Corvette takes second place here, for similar reasons as the Marenello (they are very similar cars anyways). The only reason the Vette takes second and not first is that there's an awkwardness about the car. It also looks cheap (not that $65,000 is cheap or anything, but consider the market the car is in). At any rate, the C6 Corvette is an appealing car, both to look at, and drive. I'm sure 55 years of development has something to do with that.
I hate leaving out old cars, because they do have their charm. My dad's '78 Z28 Camaro is a good-looking car, with a cool personality. And first generation Mustangs have their place too.

I like the Charger, in my opinion, it was one of the best cars of the muscle car era, I got more favorites but I'll put them up tomorrow...

The EG6 is the best Honda ever made (excluding the NSX) featuring the B18 engine. It also has a ton of aftermarket support to turn this grocery-getter into a rocket of an FF monster, savy?
