My Decision
after about a week of contemplating what car I want to get and do to them I have finally reached my decision. With the help of YouTube, automotive community sites such as this one, Top Gear, and other automotive related media outlets made this possible. I've decided on a current generation supercharged Pontiac GTO. They may not have a lot of aftermarket support, they still have power to spare "out of the box." Currently, my objectives are to save up my paychecks until I accumulate around $3,000 and put a down payment on one. Secondly, I have to track one down in my area but the Jim Ball dealership does have a garanteed on it's website that if they don't have a specific car in inventory that they can get it within 24 hours. Supercharged LS1 putting out around 350 horsepower...even though it really is all about torque.

That's quite a step up from the $350-$400 options from before.... or were those the short term plan and the GTO long term?
The '04 GTO 5.7L made 350HP without a supercharger. The '05-'06 GTO 6.0L made 400HP, also without a supercharger. Adding a supercharger would certainly be fun though

Alright, I didn't do my research thats why...The two other cars were a "right now" thing while the GTO is gonna be "wait, save and pay frequently" deal

I just checked the going prices and see they are selling as low as $13K. I didn't realize they have dropped down that low already. You would be very hard pressed to find anything for that price with that kind of balls along with modern amenities. A solid choice.

I don't care about the amenities, I only want the performance so I can compete in the underground races in the area. Now if I can only find someone willing to teach me how to drive a manual, I'll have it made...

There are some races like that with import tuners. There are also high performance Camaros/Firebirds, high performance SUVs, muscle cars, even pick up trucks. You just have to know where to go to get some action

Try Exchange St. in downtown Buffalo on the weekends, a friend of mine who works for NFTA-Metro told me about that spot. It's where he, his friends, and a bunch of others run. Cuz its basicall a wide open 1/4 to 1/2 mile stretch of road that is basically deserted at night in the warehouse district.

yeah I'm in the burbs, so I'm not familiar with groups that race in the city. I actually want to take my car up to Watkins Glen on open track day and give her a good run... quite honestly, some of those street racers would suck on the track.

I've heard of it but I'm not familiar with it... I used to go to Riverside, then transfered and graduated at MECHS, now I'm a full time student at ECC.
