Well, I always assumed the term meant any vehicle made in Asia.

Ricer to me is distasteful exterior modification.. stuff like huge, unnecessary wings, undercar neon on a civic, fake roofscoops etc.

Going back to a year old Honda Tuning magazine article, a ricer is a term given to early imports that were modded probably due to the lack of looks on the exterior and early fuel injection

Ricers are the little Japanese cars that people do all those horrible mods on.

A ricer is not just an asian car?
I've seen several well built Skylines, there's a couple guys on this site that drive 240sx's..they all rock (mostly just the S14)
the Acura NSX is a nice car from asia, drifting (which is being raped by ricers lately...pulling your e-brake does NOT mean you are drifting..) drifting was started by the little AE86, which is still (IMO) an easily modded car, and can be a good project car to start tuning with...so long as you stay away from vinyls, graphics, neon lights, and 4" exhaust pipes, and "custom" spray paint jobs, your car can turn out ok...
spinners are ricer car...The real way to make sure you AREN'T being ricer, is to work on the performance of your car first, if you "can't afford it" save up, and start with the suspension...you'll need it for you "sweet e-brake drifting" on those gravel roads lol

My personal deffinition of ricer?
Anyone who thinks the Fast and Furious Trilogy was the "sickest" car movies ever produced for their sweet racing moves...

4" exhaust pipes are awesome... as long as they're all the way through! That's what I love about the American Muscle car. True duals baby

Haha the Fast and Furious...

Guy #1 "I'm beating you in this here drag race"
Guy #2 "Not for long... I didn't have the gas pedal all the way down" *ZOOM*
Guy #1 "Nice... but neither did I" *ZOOM*
Guy #2 "Yikes! I better hit this here NOS button I got" *ZOOM*
Guy #1 "Oh so NOS is allowed? Okey Dokey" *ZOOM*
Guy #2 "Stage 2 NOS engage!" *ZOOM*

After 6 minutes of back and forth racing they finally reach 140mph and the finish line.

Ricer (n):
Any car, import or domestic, that has an assortment of non-performance enhancing modifications that are installed in a poor manner or taste on a vehicle probably looked like ass to begin with.

My definition of a "Ricer' is simple: a Japanese car undergone modification, either for show or performance. You can't call anything that's not Japanese (or Korean I suppose) a ricer, at that point it is called a "tuner". People do actually get those terms confused.

Here is the definition of ricer in L33t Tiles:

Ricer: That guy who takes his Honda Civic and adds the huge spoiler and NOS stickers

After I finish adding all these Type R stickers and punch some more holes in my muffler, I'll be the best ricer ever!
