Do you have lots of photos that you would like to upload that are larger than GearsGarage's max 1600x1200 resolution or 2000K file size?
Here is a tutorial on how to resize photos in large numbers at once using Faststone Photo Resizer:
- Download FastStone Photo Resizer 1.4 here
- Install the program
- Start the program
- Make sure the Batch Convert tab is selected
- On the right side under Source: navigate to the location of your photos
- Select and highlight the files and/or folders containing the photos that you want to resize (hold ctrl key to select multiple items at once)
- Press the Add button
- Next to where it says Output format:, select JPEG images (*.jpg)
- Next to that press the Settings button
- Slide the quality setting to 70% and press OK
- Next to Output Folder: press the Select button
- Navigate and/or create the folder you want the resized photo to go, then press OK
- Check the box that says Use advanced options (i.e. resize...) if it isn't already and press the Advanced Options button
- Make sure the Resize / Resample box is checked and that In Pixels is selected then in the Pick a Standard Size dropdown, select 1600x1200 (or smaller if you prefer) then press OK
- Make sure the Rename box is unchecked if you dont want Faststone to rename your photos
- Press the Start button
All done. It may take several minutes depending on how many photos you are processing and the speed of your computer.
