Well at least you can still buy engine blocks or V8 engines to replace the v6

I just read that the 2009 Mustang line up is going to be wearing a 45th anniversary badge.

Going to look like this

i kinda like the design of the new mustangs but i dont like that it's so... Italian i guess is what i mean... it just seems non-american in my opinion... not meaning to step on any toes but i wish it would be more american-made-looking... and i HATE the fact that its wont come with a V-8 option... damn politics keeping us away from performance haha...

Maybe they should design a special edition Stang that looks almost exactly like the 1969 Mustang GT only more aerodynamic and without heavy metals and using light, composite materials and a big V8. Call it the Ford Mustang 69GT or Mustang GT69 or sumthing like that. I could probably compete with the ZR1

they should but they wont... Ford is too high-and-mighty to actually take good cues from old cars and make a new car out of it... besides thats what the '05+ mustangs were SUPPOSED to be... they kinda failed miserably but they TRIED...

For as much as I love Ford, they could never build something like the ZR1 on the Mustang platform. The Ford GT was a supercar, and if Ford wanted to, they could just build a faster one of those. As of right now, they're too focused on increasing sales and quality, as they should be, instead of trying to one-up the ZR1.

i could be wrong but i dont think that the GTx1 was a Ford=made car... i think it might have been abn aftermarket upgrade kit (kinda like rousche does for mustangs) but i dont know who it was from... once again, i think im wrong but that what i think it is... and yeah Ford should be working on increasing sales instead of trying to 1-up the ZR-1 (which probably wont happen anyway) The Ford GT is an AWESOME car but the high-end corvette was always better (styling think that the GT is better but the performance is actually better in the Z06

but if they actually wanted to they probably COULD make a better Ford GT to compete (and hopefully beat) the ZR-1 but they wont for now... once again... I

I don't think so, according to Top Gear, it is manufactured by Ford. Also, what i read is that they were very limited production.

The GTX1 is a modified Ford GT. The conversion/modification is done by a company called Genaddi out of Wisconsin. They have an option list you can check off. The main thing they do, is cut the roof, turning the car into a roadster. There is also a performance upgrade of 150 extra horsepower through replacing the supercharger pulleys. They also change out all the decals to read "GTX1". You can also change the stereo, put in Nav, rear view camera, they also offer suspension and brake upgrades.
