you're as old as my brother. I'm not a kid... I'm pretty sure most kids can't handle 400hp. honestly, give me a chance before you hate on me because I like vettes.

I hate to pop your ego apollo, but 16 is still a kid. You don't leave the "kid" stage until you are the legal age of majority. At almost 21 it's sad that I'm older than the majority of the active people on here. We could use some more 40+ old car enthusiasts on here; we could all learn something. You are right about most kids not being able to handle 400+ hp cars though (which makes you a rarity these days ) That actually reminds me of a story (not wanting to bring up Corvettes, but the story involves a young guy and his dad's new Z06...I think you know where I'm going here...hehe). The guy was pulling out of a Harley dealership onto the road, walked on it, lost control of the car, spun it around, took out a couple of small trees, bounced the passenger fender off of a next-door building, and parked it against the building, facing the road. You can imagine how impressed his dad might be

haha! you old-timer! And, it's Pisante! lol

And to show integrity, I never once claimed to be any big shot, or to have the experience and all that of the old folks. I just know what I know, and am more than glad to share what I do know. Hell, I'm still learning stuff about old cars, even after having grown up around them.

And no, I can't post shorter posts. It's my nature to ramble on...get used to it.

Ok, yes, I admit I'm young, but the term kid isn't fitting. Kid infers immaturity, which honestly if it weren't for sniper and project-d you would see I'm pretty good about it. I only have that swagger when these guys make it personal, then I get mad. I'm honest when I tell you though, I've had tons of practice on both the V and the Mustang, I can handle them both. There's a certain way to drive them, you can't be an idiot and compeltely power-over-steer a turn if there is limited space. I've definitely had the right people teach me, and after reading that story of how that 18 year old crashed his dad's M5 and killed everyone in it, I had a wake up call. I realize with all that power, the driver has to be responsible in his use of it. Yes street racing is wicked fun, but it's the stupidest thing you can do... plus I bet a 400hp V8 would embarrass 90% of the cars at the street races anyways..

well just my 2 cents.

personally..i loove the old mustangs...and by old i mean 64 1/2 to 73.
90's models wernt all too great they, got okay in the early 2000's but the newest mustangs (well at least the gt i drove) handles like a cow...im not saying that it doesnt have power because it does (130 down a mississippi highway will get your blood pumping)...but what they have in power they obviously lack in handling...just a personal opinion

THIS is what I am talking about.

You tend to post (speak) without thinking, it seems. Just so darn sure you are right, and you cant possibly be wrong.

There is more to cars than GM, the Vette and V8's.

Before you spout off on my love for imports, blah blah blah, lemme tell you something. There are people JUST LIKE YOU on the import side of the fence. "My car is the best ever, nothing can beat me. That car that Honda makes is the best ever, no one can beat it!"

It REALLY, REALLY irritates me. Those people, as well as you, need to grow up, shut up, and realize that we are ALL car lovers in this community.

Remember that old saying "to each their own"? It applies to cars too. They all have their pluses and minuses. No cars are perfect (although Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear has arrived at the conclusion that the Skyline R34 is a rock-solid car, with no problems to be had, and he may be right, but let's just be skeptical just in case someone proves him wrong [or the car does]).

Ease up on the guy. Apollo isn't that bad. He said 90% not "no one can beat it". It's normal to give your car and your favorites the benefit of the doubt.

i agree, it gets u from point A to point B, no frills or lace. i have a '98 contour lx that is fairly basic and has some problems but it works most of the time. i think the new ones are way better and it's good ford is doing the ecological thing while being still in the average man's price range.
