yeah I could see where you'd be annoyed by that... I mean it does absolutely humiliate any import... yeah then you'll bring up the GTR, and my response to that is, ZR1 and do you want to look like a man? Not to mention it's truly the standard of cheap supercardom. I just bring the vette up because it relates to every car you guys talk about. It's a rival to everything you guys think is cool. Have fun with 4 cylinders!

The chances of running into a C5 Z06 aren't that low buddy. Fuel efficiency is for people who hate cars... and by the way, if the vette is a gas guzzler, why is it exempt from the gas guzzler tax? oops, know your info before you write.

The Corvette only gets about 24 mpg, which isn't a lot. And what if I brought up a different car, one better than the Corvette like a Ferrari, Lotus, or some other car. There is even an electric car out there than car beat a Vette. Also think about the new Mitsubishi Evolution, if it can keep up with a Murcielago, it can keep up with or beat a Vette as well

Since this is now a point of discussion, I'll debate you on this. When people say "imports", they don't mean European cars, they mean Japanese. Also, the electric car you're referring to is called the Tesla, and it's American, and it's slower than any C6 Corvette. The only Evo that can keep up with a Murcielago is European spec only, meaning you can't buy it here. I don't know if you read car and driver or motor trend, but the new Evo isn't that mind blowing... it's fast enough to keep up with an STi if that's what you mean.
Don't get me wrong, I don't hate imports. I just hate when people get a little defensive and decide to make things personal. Bringing this back to Fords, the same thing about the vette could be applied to the Ford GT or the 2000 Cobra R. Both cars are extremely fast and extremely sexy. All I ask is to not get pissed off when I bring up a legitmate point... simply because you'll look stupid

I'm just tring to get you to shut up about the Vette. I wasn't talking about the Tesla, the Wrightspeed X1, which outran a Ferrari by many lengths.

I don't mean to bring up the 'Vette again in this Ford thread, but a C6 is rated at 26 mpg highway on the new EPA standard that started in 2008. It scored 28 mpg on the older standard. That's pretty impressive actually for a V8 performance car. The Z06 is just one mpg behind aswell.

I figured higher numbers like that too, but when I checked an issue of Road & Track (September 2006) I was rather put off by the 17mpg figure. I know the base coupe is very close to 30mpg. THAT is impressive. At any rate, the Vette's no gas-guzzler

The C5 Z06 still did well on gas mileage. Obviously you don't really like Corvettes, but I know that going from 0-80 in an 04 C5 Z06 was so awesome. The CTS-V I sometimes drive can come close to that feel of acceleration, but the Corvette experience is really unique.
ps. it only counts if it's a manual.

I don't hate Vette's I think their overrated and I'm sick of reading your posts glorifying them even more, it seems like you bring them up in nearly every thread you post in, how about talking about Mustangs and GTs and SVTs for a change
