and even faster with a supercharger, but the only problem is that there is a limit to how much horsepower you can make, I think after tuning, the NSX can't make over 400 or so horsepower, according to some tuning magazine. I don't remember the exact number because it was like 2 years ago

Not the point. The argument was that Japanese cars needed turbos to be fast. Also, the NSX, with a stock 3.2L V6, is good for 290bhp. A fully-tuned version, still N/A, is good for around 450bhp. Also consider this: the car doesn't weight anything. In the mid-90s the Type S weighed around 2500lbs. Think power-weight ratio. These things would eat 5.0L Mustangs for breakfast. Not only that, being mid-engined (amounting to a neutral handling), it was also the best handling road car to come out of Japan. It's just depressing to see that 2006 was the last year for them.

Well, they didn't update the NSX enough through the years to keep up with modern times.

yeah I said that and the Lexus IS-F were the only exceptions... but honestly, a C5 Z06 would rip up a stock NSX.

but what are the chances of running into a C5 Corvette Z06, I ask. Roughly slim to none considering many are turning to more fuel efficient vehicles and less on gas guzzler like the Vette. By the way, why do you always bring up the Corvette anyways? Nearly every thread you bring it up...

Correction. 1) C5 Vettes are very common. I see them frequently. Hell, I even see loads of C6 Vettes (Z06s included). 2) The Corvette Z06 is rated at 17mpg (according to Road & Track figures, asper Sept '06 issue), which is based on hard road tests. In reality, under "normal" driving, you can expect around 19-21mpg average, which puts it in the same category as a Volkswagen Jetta 2.5(21.1mpg) and Mazda 6 (19mpg). On top of that, there's no gas-guzzler tax on Corvettes (Porsche 911 Turbo RS is also exempt - fyi, because they have a high enough mpg rating). So, what were you saying?

Why not? The Hennessey Venom 1000R is, and THAT is one of the fastest cars ever built, ever ever ever. So again, why not?

Yeah, no doubt! The thing's a MONSTER! That's what happens when you lighten a car to about the same as a Formula 1 car, add TWO (2) high-output Garret turbos, add another gear, and more, to an already monster of a motor (don't forget the full 8.3L of face-distorting V10 power, the coupe starting at a good 600bhp). Supposedly there are some still left for sale, at $255,000
I dunno, there's something to be said about modifying Vipers. They tend to become quite...ummm...well, "monster" fits well.

Wait...how did this go from a "Your opinions on FORDS" thread, to comparing cars that AREN'T Fords?
The latest Saleen S281 is pretty cool. If Saleen would ditch to ****ing governor then the S281 would be one hell of an awesome car. The "good" one available off the showroom is good for 550bhp, and around 190mph (less governor), and 0-60 in under 4 seconds. Not too shabby for a Mustang
