I guess you werent in one of the millions of Toyota/Lexus cars that had engine problems... what was the problem? Oh nothing big, just the engine blowing up. In most cases, a given car's failure is due to the driver and the way he/she has maintained his car. My Mustang has 40,000 miles on it, I've never brought it in for work/service. It's truly a great car. My family has only owned Ford and GM products, and not once have we had serious problems. Over the years, it adds up to maybe 20-25 Ford and GM cars. We used to own a Chrysler 300M Special before the CTS-V, but it was painfully slow... even though it was the performance model.

Not a big fan of Fords. And that has been passed down to my through my dad. All the fords my family has ever owned failed MISERABLY at life. There is no way I would be caught dead buying a Ford!

What's wrong with turbos? A very, very good way to make power.

Nothing wrong with them at all... but it is funny that Japan's only fast naturally aspirated cars are the NSX and Lexus IS-F.

Are we talking about factory N/A cars here? If not, I could bring up a whole lot of "All Motor" class FWD 4 bangers that are just, SICK

Well, I started out in life as anti-Ford, having grown up in a pro-GM family (with some pro-Dodge coming from my dad). But, in recent years experience with mid-80s F-series and Explorers, I've come to like Fords quite a bit. We have an '85 Explorer 4x4 (in case you didn't know, THAT era of Explorer were pickups like the F-series) and this truck is bullet-proof. In all the years of hardcore 4x4ing we could never get it stuck, and my dad's been trying to kill the motor (good ole' 300ci L6) and has been failing. PLUS, it recently won a Tough-Truck competition, where it was the only truck that could be driven off the track (all the others died ON the track). This kind of experience definitely affects your opinion, and now I rather like Ford trucks. Of course I like Mustangs and GT40s too

his point is that Japan can't build a fast all motor car without the assistance of a turbo. it's more of a point of pride for domestics than an insult to imports.

What about the NSX? It's an naturally aspirated, AND it's fast.
