Default Fix Or Repair Daily

Man this is so true. My car has not had a day where there is nothing wrong with it in the past month... Or since I got it. Don't get me wrong, I love mustangs. But it's kinda rediculous lol. Ever since I got my car I have had a really bad vibration in the driveshaft. Found out my U Joints need to be replaced and maybe the yoke on the tailshaft of the tranny. I might be switching to 3.27 gears here soon if my buddy comes through and hooks me up. This will reduce the vibration but damn. And the other day my smog pump seized on me RIGHT after I put a new belt on. So now I gotta go buy a shorter belt to bypass the smog pump until I can get a new one. My car is running rich and has a couple leaky injectors so those will need to be replaced too. My muffler fell off a few weeks ago and the bolts fell off so I had to get some replacements but I put my muffler at the wrong angle so it vibrates against the body.

Hopefully I will have all this fixed soon lol

My old Mercury went to the junk yard today, I got sick of fixing it. I bought it for $700 and have done probably around $5000 in repairs in the last three years. I'm not getting another Ford until they bring over the Focus RS from Europe.

it couldn't possibly because its 15 year old or older.. my grandfather has an old linlocn.. he hasn't replaced anything except for oil and tires.. i know another guy he has a 22 year old ford F-150 and it still runs almost like new.. and he doesn't even take care of it.. in fact he chucks rocks in the back and hauls them away with it... for 20 years!!

I think this only has to do with ownership and whoever took care of the car before you.. not Ford. This is not an insult at all, because you got an awesome deal, but for $1900, you'd expect some problems, right? People are too quick to blame car companies for their trouble, where it could simply be bad care (by the past owner) and high mileage.

I got a killer deal on my Mach 1, the test drive went great, but the car vibrated horribley, and the owner said it was just the tires. We got him to take 1k off the price, and bought it. Turned out it was just the tires from sitting so long, they turned into squares. Did I mentioned the car has a salvage title? The repairs that were done were alright, but nothing great. It has a replaced passenger door. After driving it for an hour after we "my parents paid for it, but im in the process of paying them back" bought it we noticed it would grind going into third, and then every shift into 3rd would grind. Turns out it has a bad clutch, along with the rest of the problems weve found over the past month, clutch, 3rd gear, front left tire, passenger door subwoofer, engine nocks, or has some funny sound, antifreeze leaks sometimes, the replaced passenger door needs a tint to match all the other glass on the car.

The problems so far havent been to bad, as long as things stay the same, it still was a good deal, but if anything else pops up, its going to be a major and expensive hassle

Why does Ford have so many negative acronyms? Coincidence? That would be a pretty crazy coincidence... don't ya think? No, Ford named their company FORD knowing full well all the things it stands for. They are laughing and mocking their owners and have been for over 100 years.

PS. FORD backwards means "Driver Returns On Foot"

Cause the people that come up with them have a lot of trouble doing one for TOYOTA or KOENIGSEGG

My personal experiences with Ford vehicles have been very mixed. When I was a young kid my mom had a Mercury Sable that after about 2 years wouldn't start if it had been left outside over night. It took many trips to the dealer but they could never fix the problem. It also had the worst paint quality I have ever seen.

Since then, I've been involved with 3 Ford Explorers. A 1998, a 2000 and a 2004. The 1998 we only had for 2 years and it never had a thing go wrong with it. The 2000 I still own and is overall a good vehicle, but has had a lot of stupid little problems over the years, most of them when it was relatively new (air bag light, seat heaters not working, engine rattles, check engine light, poor paint quality, radio, rear wiper motor...)
The 2004 had the jerkiest transmission I have ever experienced, and developed a rough idle problem that the dealer couldn't fix...

I don't hate Ford products, and I would buy another one (not used though), but I agree with Johnnyboy about the acronyms... no coincidence!
