Default Lincoln MKS

Lincoln's MKS was apparently spotted in Detroit. I don't know, but to me, a twin turbo 6 isn't going to cut it in the super-sedan wars. For more, here's autoblog:

Spotted in the wild: 2009 Lincoln MKS in Ann Arbor - Autoblog

Thoughts?

I like the looks of the MKS. I'm not even that displeased with the engine choices, given the fact that it's slated to compete with the likes of the Lexus ES, Acura TL and Cadillac CTS. What I don't like is the fact that it's front wheel drive. Hopefully it will find a market, as I really would hate to see Ford come out with yet another flop.

I dislike all Lincolns of the fact that they're basically more expensive Fords and only have more chrome that seperates them from those Ford counterparts

While that is true of many Lincolns, I believe the MKS is Lincoln exclusive, in that it has no Ford counterpart.

I should also say it's a little more than chrome that separates them. They have a longer warranty, better service, they are more nicely appointed and luxurious, and just overall have a classier image, which is important to a lot of people, although I do understand what you are saying. The buyer can decide if these extras warrant the extra money or not.

hahah very true. And seriously, no matter what you do to sparkle it up, it'll always be part of if not the same as its "lesser" half. The Lincoln just isn't cutting it for me.. its looks don't really set it apart from any other car you see on the road. Basically it just looks like a combination of several styles and I'm not sure the MKS will really save the company..

They don't look any more different than the Ford/Lincoln argument:

Lincoln MKZ

Ford Fusion

Lexus ES

Toyota Camry

In fact, in this case I think the Toyota and the Lexus are more similar than the Ford and the Lincoln.

the difference between the Lexus/Toyota is the mirrors and front fascia and it looks like the tailights. the MKZ is more simialr to the 500

No, the 500 is a longer wheelbase, and is currently called the Taurus. That shares its platform with the Mercury Sable. I agree with Supercharged, lexus and toyota are more similar than ford and lincoln.

Lincoln has been pretty boring for quite some time. I havent read much about the MKS, mainly because it looked like another boring Lincoln. I'm afraid that potential customers may feel the same way.

in no way is that true. when you actually look at the cars that suberchargedxj put up, you'll notice how close the Lexus and Toyota are... they're practically identical.. obviously more so than the Lincoln and Ford
