Default Chrysler announces lifetime powertrain warranty

I just read at AutoBog.com that Chrysler has announced that it will now start giving a lifetime powertrain (engine, transmission/transaxle, drive shafts, and axles) warranty on all it's new vehicles starting July 26, 2007.

You can read more about it here.

Hopefully that gets them a lot of extra sales, because I would think it'll cost them a fortune.

Most new car buyers only keep their car for a few years. So I'm not sure how many people this will appeal to. That said I am one of the rare people that I know that keeps a car it's entire life and I always buy Chrysler so it's very good news for me.

Default Pretty Gold Lebaron, oh chrysler and their trainie

After the nightmare of a car Chrysler LeBaron that we had, this would have been good to have back then. I swear that thing was possessed. Two transmissions, radiator, and much more problems with that thang! Don't want to fail to mention the part about the ignition, it locked up during a busy Friday trip at the Bank's drive through window!... grrrrr. LoLz first time I've ever seen anyone be towed from the drive through lane of the bank :/. Yeah, it had to be me and that really pretty gold Le Baron!

Too bad they didn't have a warranty like that a few years ago when my girlfriend's Chrysler was made. She has a Stratus R/T sedan with the 2.7 sludgebucket of a motor, I've never before had to fix so many transmission leaks and actually worry about engine sludge.

It's a shame the SRT models are excluded
