Default Obama's 300C on Ebay

So it appears that a Chrysler 300C that Obama leased from 2004-2007 was purchased by a restaurant owner in the area with the hopes of getting rich. Looks like his plan worked. I read that he had it up for auction before and the bidding got to $125,000 then he took it down for tax reasons. The bidding is currently starting at $100,000 while the Blue Book value on the car is about $15,000.

I want to know what everyone's opinion is on owning a celebrity's car? Obviously a premium has to be paid, but would you pay an $85,000 or $100,000 premium?

Here is the link if anyone wants to check it out
eBay Motors: Chrysler : 300 Series (item 330301140685 end time Jan-20-09 23:15:50 PST)

PS- Please do not turn this into a political argument!

I wouldn't pay anything extra for a celebrity car, unless of coarse I felt that I could turn a buck reselling it.

If the car had some sort of celebrity of it's own, like if it was in a movie, I may pay a bit extra for myself.

Like Johnnyboy said, I really wouldn't want a celebrity's car unless it's from a movie or something. For example, I'd pay extra for the GT500 from I Am Legend, but if it was just Will Smith's personal car, and it didn't appear in the movie, I would not pay extra.

I have to agree. Unless it is the original Eleanor I'm not paying a cent over blue book. Oooooo, Obama drove this car. Thats amazing! Not. All that means is that it's a used vehicle.

I just keep thinking to myself "who would take this over an S-class Mercedes?"

Yeah, I think having a brand new Merc S or SL would be a bigger bragging right if that's what someone was looking for.

PS I would probably pay a handsome amount for John Voight's '89 Lebaron though.
