Default Chrysler guarantees gas $2.99/g for 3 years!

I was just reading at AutoBlog.com that Chrysler is going to offer a program where if you buy one of their new vehicles before June 2, you can register for a credit card that when used to buy gas/diesel, will guarantee a max of $2.99 per gallon for 3 years.

You can read more about it here.

You know, that's a really good selling point but at the same time a bit of a funny one as well. Hopefully it'll draw some more sales to Chrysler, they can use all the help they can get. I still think it would be a good idea to make their small cars look like small cars again though, especially since recent articles suggest a huge increase in sales of compact and sub-compact cars, most listed as stop sellers being those that actually look like small cars.

While SRT models are excluded, that isn't necessarily bad. Most of their sales base is not in performance vehicles but in your everyday vehicles as well as minivans, where performance comes second or third to price and sometimes size.

I know, it's just that the cool cars never get the discounts or incentives.

Does one really need all that much of an incentive to buy the performance model though? haha.

I work at a GM dealership and get to see all the promo books for the G8 and I find it pretty sexy and it looks like it'll be fun to drive. Add that it's a sedan and the wife (or future wife) can't complain that it's not family friendly.

The G8 GXP is more of a GTO than the GTO was. I'm not sure why they don;t call it a GTO.

I thought I had read somewhere that eventually a G8 coupe would come out and be called the GTO... but I've never heard anything about it again.... that would be nice though!

The deal with the gas at $2.99, you can have that price or just take the rebates.
The only car that was worth taking the gas deal was the Caliber, cause the only offered about 500 in rebates. But if you look at prices today, gas is now just hitting below $2.75 a gallon here. What a deal!! Honestly it's just another way to get people to buy a car, just like 0% financing. You get a better deal at 6% than 0%, unless you were to pay off the car in a few months.
