Default Dodge Challenger SRT8

After hearing all the buzz about the upcoming Challenger, I must say, I'm a little disappointed. I think it's an awesome car with an awesome engine, but I hate the fact that Chrysler hasn't slapped a manual on there yet. Is there one even planned? I like the overall idea... a true muscle car with a true muscle car body.. it's like 1969 all over again. With that said, if it's not available in manual, that's an insult to muscle cars and American drivers as a whole. My 2 cents

I agree they should have put the manual tranny in it at launch, but my understanding is that it's not far behind.
I love the look of the car, but I wish they would have done a little better with the interior instead of just installing the generic Chrysler/Dodge interior. It's like they ran out of money when they got to it.

I think that it really is rediculus that there was no manual in the new challenger. But the car is amazingly beautiful. I believe that a manual option will come out in the near future due to manual transmission lovers. I'm not to worried about a beautiful car like that not having a manual transmission.

I guess Chrysler brought a white SRT-8 Challenger in homage of the movie Vanishing Point to the One Lap of America and wrecked it.

Oh man, certainly not the ideal public appeareance. I also really wish the manual was ready for the release, though I'm glad they're bringing back the pistol grip shifter, what was a seriously badass accent. It would have been better if it was in wood like the old one instead of the plastically feel of recent Dodge interiors. Dodge/Chrysler should really up the quality of their interiors, especially with their upper model vehicles like the SRT range.

Here's something cool I just found out about the SRT8 version of the Challenger. They have a cool performance stats thing in its speedometer that can show G-forces, 0-60, 1/4 mile, and 60-0 stats.

This short video shows what it looks like.

Man, those gauges look like something right from Autometer, or I guess Autometer gauges look just like Chrysler gauges. That's still really coold having a G-meter and track stats right there for you, sounds like something usable for picking up chicks into muscle cars. "I pulled .93 lateral G just pulling up to see you"

Yeah that 0-60 meter is awesome. My Caddy has a g-meter, but I wish it had a 0-60 clock too!!

I could see myself constantly wanting to beat my record run. Next thing you know my SRT8 wouldn't have anything it doesnt absolutely need.... like the other 3 seats etc.

Dealers were able to start taking orders as early as last December, I believe the cars are slated to hit the dealerships later this summer at around $38000 for the SRT-8

It does come in at 4100 lbs. That's pretty heavy.
