What I think needs to happen is every US car maker should go on strike, and force the Senate to change the bill; at the very least have one car in the line-up that meets the 35mpg, and offer it for less than $20k; and still have the freedom to build anything that gets less than that. That would actually be a saving point for Chrysler. If they can make an eco-box to make 35mpg, and make sure it is bug-free when it rolls off the assembly line, then I think Chrysler can survive.
