Default Classic Cars

How many out there attend car shows? There are varities of car shows but the ones I seem to enjoy most are the classic car shows. I don't really think I would want to own a car from the 60s but I do however enjoy looking at them. It amazes me the different in the way cars was made back them compared to now. Cars back then was mostly about simplicity. There was not alot put into them such as gadgets and electronics. I do think that cars back then was safer in ways.

I attend around 10-15 car shows each year some have 100 cars while the others have 1,000's. I do find that most (around 90% of them) are judged unfairly. Just last year at the all mustang show the two that took home trophies in my class were awful. The one mustang was completely stock while the other one belonged to the guy that hosted the show!

I don't go to shows as much as I used to or would like to but I attend 2-3 a year. I don't think I'd like entering one of my cars into judging. I couldn't bare someone criticizing my baby.

I use to enter them quite a bit when I had a 70 Pontiac Lemans. I won a few and over the three years I entered, I won enough cash to pay for the entry fees and the travel money. I am now in the process of helping a friend restore a 65 Mustang so he can get into shows. It is rough because where I live now is very rural so it is quite a distance to most shows but I try to visit a few a year.
I would love to have another muscle car but any of you who have a wife knows that they don't always agree.

Default Our Car show cancelled

We used to have a (usually classic) car show every month in our little Walmart Shopping area. The small area had a Foodlion, little strip mall and then a Walmart on the end. All that with a really nice uncongested parking lot.

But now, its awlful. Walmart closed, and moved up the road with a new super sized store, Starbucks, KFC/Taco Bell, this that and the other, and now there are NO MORE car shows in our town. I hate this!

My favorite show over the last years was the one they had with classic fords. The ford truck and cars were painted in Bright Yellows, Blues, and Reds. Awesome!

I got two days left in the semester, maybe I'll be able to go to that Lake George car show.
