Default In-Dash screens

What do you think of those in-dash screens? I'm personally going to try to get a flip-out Kenwood or Alpine for my Talon at some point so I can have a navigation set-up for road rallies and also use it as a display for DSM-Link when I'm driving.

I love in dash gizmos especially with LCD screens

I hate that they charge thousands of dollars for in dash nav systems in new cars when you can get a good aftermarket nav system for $200-300. Quite a markup

A good, top-o-tha-range in dash 2-DIN nav system with DVD and touch screen will set you back around $900-$1000, with previous-year models around the $750 mark and bottom of the line or "slightly used" and generally hot systems as low as $400. Flip-out screens are only a few hundred bones, most flip-out screens don't come with navigation though, but if you get something such as Alpine or Pioneer for the flip-out screen they do have piggyback nav expansion systems.

Yeah, I'm thinking about a Pioneer flip screen for my stang, and it's only about $500 at Circuit City.
