Dude,Dude, dude, life come with fruits and $hit. every living thing on earth can justify for this. Some time i like to think its not all about American/cars.

American auto makers are known for making the car to meet the American people need. What i fine to be concerning is, Why would you buy a product from someone who is enemies/communist and has been trying to kill the American way?

Oh i forgot some American will call this the drug dealer legal/or illegal same $hit. and the consumer/customer is the crackhead/ medi-caid...

I am not hating on America, You would be a A$$ to hate on the U.S. constitution. The great scripture ever written.

I will agree with you that TOYOTA make a better cars, but that does not mean i am going to go buy they cars. Do you kick you kids out of the house ,because you like your neighbor kids better?.

So why are we supporting communist ideal with American currency?.

OH, and don`t forget the un-lawfull labor, which i like to call SLAVE....it not a action it a feeling.

I honestly do not think Toyota makes a better car.. especially present day. Cars like the Malibu, G8, Fusion etc have so much more style and substance than anything coming out of Toyota.

I don't know what half of that means... so I won't begin to decipher it....

Toyota is a Japanese company... and Japan is not a communist country.

As well, Toyota and many other foreign auto makers have opened US factories which have provided millions of jobs for Americans, while American car companies have had to scale back.

Give it a rest.

In respect to style, Toyota's are lacking, but when it comes to overall quality and durability, Honda and Toyota excel over the competition. That's why they now outsell GM and Ford.... I'm hoping that GM and Ford have started to improve their quality to match that of the Japanese. They need to in order to save themselves.

Say what you want, the human rights in those countries are in a mess.

I will like to let you know robotic assembly line is what do most of the puzzle. Where does the parts that put the car together come from?

MADE IN . you name it?

the icing on the cake always looks and taste good most of the time..

hey dude don`t let my way of thinking change your view. I am sure in time you will see whats be said is .

No.. it's not the product.. it seriously isn't. They sell tons and tons of cars.. yes so does Toyota, but what's causing them to lose so much money is the unions.

Look, I agree with you that American is the way to go, but Japan has no problems with human rights. Stop living in 1939-1989, communism is dead in germany, and Japan is a good country. Unfortunately, American automakers outsource too.. even Buick. To be as pessimistic and paranoid as you isn't a good thing... everyone knows 9/11 conspiracies are bs.

Sure ,I am guessing you have proof of this. The American automakers is out posting the labor and parts making to over seas company. which leaves the American and its union with welfare and unemployment.

I would really like to know. whats your JOB (journey Of the Broke)?

I don`t care what you believe. You can believe this. You put in 100% at work to settle for 10% compension....

You are right. The import market is not slave labor....You a$$ is been slave labor in American...... What union are you a parts of? . You should tell them about the u.s. constitution. they seem to disagree with the 16th amendment "tax on person income is slavery".

Your also right about the 9/11 BS. Don`t be surprise if your government launch a false missile on one of the major city. For another reason to go to war. War is good, it rich en the economy (wwII). so why every 1 out of 5 family become home less to mortgage foreclosure. when do you get the next $1 pay raise?....

the Union are seeing the employee are true slave and robots.....

Don`t forget to vote for obama and Mccain....the ELITE bankers puppets.

I only live 5 miles from the WTC so it was the scariest reality movie i ever seen. can you show me a picture of the airplane which crash in PA and the pentagon? ......Yea it all BS. it must be hypnotic to be steering at taillights...every race....

hahaha.. I'm a student buddy. Yeah unions are lame, but I don't think it's slave labor. Yeah I think income tax is ridiculous too, but again, I believe that the US government with the help of good leaders can reduce taxes for every hard working person.. including the wealthy. I'm sure your Buick is fast, but if I were you, I wouldn't talk too much... DarkKnight on this site has a setup definitely capable of taking down whatever you're running, and I really hope I will in the near future as well. Then again, racing to me isn't all about the drag strip. There is no conspiracy in 9/11... it's not hard to recognize a united airlines plane, let alone have the flight numbers and everything.

Japan is a fantastic country, and their leading car manufacture Toyota is easily the best in the world. Just a note on the side, its nothing like a communist nation, your mixing it up with nasty old China.

The thing is with Japanese cars is, such as Toyota, they don't have the history or prestige like European cars have or some American ones.

But where it counts on the market, the majority of what they make are damn fine cars, well made, high quality and reliable - all at a competitive price.

Their higher end cars are absolutely amazing too. In the long run a lot of them are better than most similar things that come out of America, the quality in a fair few American cars is just not good enough, particularly inside where you sit, its quite disappointing.

I won't go on too much - there's quite a lot you could discus on this issue.

I'd say you're accurate to a point. Economy American cars are not very good, that is true. But.. from $25,000 up, they get so much better. Perfect example, I was rear ended the other night.. I was driving a Cadillac, the guy who hit me was driving a Nissan Maxima. His car was absolutely trashed, and mine, the bumper is cracked and the left exhaust pipe pushed in slightly. I understand the concept of crash zones, but his car is absolutely wrecked.

You're probably right, unless you're buying a Cadillac or a Lincoln, chances are Japanese cars will have a nicer interior (this is changing however). Having said that though, the focus of American cars are what's under the hood. People are often surprised of how powerful even average American cars are (Cobalt SS, Cadillac CTS, Chevrolet Camaro V6, Ford Edge etc).

I like all sorts of cars. I tend to stay on the American side, but I can appreciate a good car where it is to be found. Japan makes a nice car, but as far as the higher end cars.. they're just boring. The only good 2009 model Lexus is the IS-F, Infiniti's are sporty, but they don't have enough power for the big leagues, and Acura's cars focus on technology and not driver pleasure.

Just my 2 cents though.

I respectfully disagree.
Your example doesn't necessarily prove a point. The CTS you were driving has a large, high rear bumper. The Maxima has a low front end. I don't think it's a fair judgment that the Maxima is a lesser car because it crumpled. I was rear ended a couple of years ago by an Impala... same story. My bumper barely got pushed in, his front end crumpled like an accordion.

I don't consider a Cobalt SS, Cadillac CTS or a Chevrolet Camaro to be "average" American cars at all. And the Ford Edge? Not a very powerful at all. To me an average American car is a Chev Malibu, Ford Fusion, Chrysler Sebring, etc. None of which have as much power as a Toyota Camry, Honda Accord or Nissan Altima, nor are they ranked as highly.

I don't know how you can say Infiniti's don't have enough power. I'll prove to you that they do. The G35 sedan was putting out 306hp, and for this year, it's now a G37 putting out 330hp from a normally aspirated engine. It has a 0-60 time around 5.2 seconds. BMW 335i sedan and coupe are 300hp using a Twin Turbo and a 0-60 time of around 5.1 seconds. That's pretty much dead even, and the Infiniti does it without aid of a turbocharger, and for a lot less money. If you want to compare an American car, I'm sure you know the Mustang GT has 300hp as well, but I don't think it's comparable with the G or the 3 series.
I could go on and prove the same point with the M against the 5 series E class and CTS; FX against the X5 and ML; and the EX against the X3, but I think I made my point.

I'm not much of an Acura enthusiast, but my brother has a TSX which I never really thought much of, until I drove it a few times last summer. It's an incredibly enjoyable car to drive. Tight steering, very driver oriented. Not the fastest car, but it's got a lot power for a 4 cylinder and handles incredibly well with minimal torque steer.

My opinion? American, no foreign exceptions. We live, work, drive in America, so buy American products. The money, jobs and economy go to these other countries, and we get screwed. I know some may be reliable, but I know more than less foreign car drivers that need major repairs, mainly transmission and engine. They may make more power, but not in the right cars. They are to much trying to appeal to all markets, beeing powerful, fuel efficient, what ever, but they arent out performing in any catagory. I buy American, becuase I live here and know our country needs my help. I will NEVER buy a foreign auto, my money is made in this country and will stay in this country. Just my [u]opinion[u], but maybe more people will hear it. By the way, I wanted McCain to win the election.

I'm not saying Infiniti's are not fast, but like I said, they fall behind in the big leagues. I priced out a G35 coupe 6MT, comparably equipped as say an M3 coupe, and it ends up to be about $46,000. Pricing out the G37 6MT, I got $44,000. Both of those are roughly $10,000-$15,000 less, which sort of puts it in an awkward price bracket. If you're gonna pay that kinda money for a performance sedan, you're so much better off going with a Camaro SS (IRS and 430hp) or something like that. I realize it's not the same class, but still, if we're talking about performance Infiniti certainly isn't the best option. If you live in the sunbelt, you can get a C6 Vette for the cost of the G35 coupe.. to me there is no comparison. You know as well as I, Infiniti has yet to display mind blowing performance from the factory.. maybe that will change, maybe not.

Rankings don't mean much to me, well because you'll notice 9 out of 10 cars in Consumer Reports are Japanese. Most fun to drive, WRX STi hatchback!? It seems a bit biased to me. With your point on the Mustang GT, yes it has 300hp, yes it's naturally aspirated, and yes it matches Infiniti's 0-60s, and because it has higher displacement, it will exceed them in higher gear acceleration, so I'm not sure what you meant with that example.

I guess my point is, if you want power, go American or German. Yes, turboed Japanese cars will carry you to 60 or 80 pretty fast, but beyond that, they fall behind. (perfect example that 4 way drag race between the ZR1, GTR, 599, GT2). Yes the GTR will get to 100+ very fast, but all in a relative sense. Yes the EVO and the STi get there fast too, but IRS muscle cars beat them to it.

I guess I define "average" on the basis of price. $20-25K is the cost of an average car. You can get a powerful car for that price if you stay American.. if you go foreign you have to spend more money.

I like all cars, but I think American ones get discriminated against too often.. with the US Senate accusing the big 3 of putting out bad products (ok, Chrysler does, but Ford makes a mean truck/muscle car and GM puts out all around great cars) I just get so upset about this dislike for American product.

I realize this was probably too long, but what I'm trying to say is in the realm of performance out of the factory, Japan falls a bit behind. (of course aftermarket is a different story)
