I just thought that tid-bit was sorta interesting... The best Porsche could get out of the GT-R was 7:54. This is kind of a biased test of the GT-R.. but maybe legit? thoughts?

Well, gauging from other tests I think a GT-R could do well better than a 7:54.

Not my cup of tea.
The "R" button is for retard.....
Why would anyone want a fast car, when you need computer assist control to handle it....Are you really in control for the machine or is it you and some computer....it can be consider cheating.
Yea today super cars come with ABS, traction control, night vision, and tons of driver assist device.
What does the word "ASSIST" means?
"Activating the Nissan GT-R's launch control is a matter of configuring its transmission, dynamics control and damping adjustments properly. The transmission and damping switches must both be set to the R mode and the VDC must be switched off completely by holding the VDC-R button down for a few seconds. Then it's just a matter of pinning the brake with your left foot and wooding the throttle with your right, not unlike the technique used to produce a tire-shredding burnout in that '85 Camaro you drove in high school."
Only a retart would " Then it's just a matter of pinning the brake with your left foot and wooding the throttle with your right," in a race.
another proof of the handicap world.
The old school ford gt500, cobra, corvette stingray, and other hi-hp cars reflect the TRUE SKILL of a driver.
I truly think race car driving rely on driver experience and confidence.
Hype will sell....
If i had the sponsor ship to build my GN...I would BLOW the doors off that "R" mean retard, restart, RICE,

maybe so, but I guess they are notorious for running track times that can't be reciprocated.. either Porsche is truly concerned, (which it is), or.. well Nissan ran higher boost pressure? I still doubt it, but I thought it was interesting because a big name automaker called them out on it.

well you cant really compare it to the zr1 you can only compare it to the z06 if you want to compare the cars in terms of price a nicely equipped z06 runs in the high 60s a gtr is low 70s theres only one option i think so if you want to compare the supercharged 600 that cost 100,000 to a gtr which cost 70 the intial reason for even making the gtr was to reach those cars but if you want to compare you would compare the gtr to zo6 and the gtr spec v thats coming out to the zr1.

LET REMEMBER ...... IT STARTED HERE IN AMERICA....WE ARE THE FIRST TO DO ANYTHING....BECAUSE TRUE AMERICAN ARE DRIVEN BY FREEDOM AND LIBERTY
You,re going to love the obama (the acorn/NACA banker) spread the wealth equally to form a socialism state, Like the communist Chinese. Japan is the smallest country to make automobile, but yet they export more than we import to them....WHY?
I bet the import communist PRICKS bought ALL the steel from the WTC building, to make cars for American....
Are you waiting to find out your IMPORT INTERIOR is LEAD contaminated....helping you with the DUMBING down process...
You all can buy foreign products, and you should move to the communist country you support.
Here obama roll model :

your conspiracy theories are without proof, McCain is the one who will destroy this country: The REAL John McCain and Japan isn't communis, its democratic. Get your facts straight, And the modern car was invented by GERMANS! Europe is first do anything, not America thats why European technology is more advanced than American technology

Haha, that's actually completely untrue. Americans pretty much pioneered everything important. Just relax, yes you have German heritage, but you're American. If you don't like it, move to German and live off of welfare like so many Europeans do. Quite frankly, Barack's little tax increase on the wealthy is what will destroy the economy, considering that those who make $250k+ annually support 70% of the economy.

No I know that. I wasn't saying we invented the car, but we certainly pioneered it for the mass market.
