I'd do it to any car, import or not. I don't discriminate country of origin when it comes to automobile carnage I'm actually debating doing it to my old Mercury SlowPaz sitting in my back yard. I'm curious to see how far pushrods can launch through the rocker cover.

Think of it as an automotive stress test, you're testing the strain on the moving components, the weakest moving component failing first. I think engine builders should bounce their motors off the limiter until destruction in testing so they know which components to improve.

yea, thats a good idea, but it kinda seems like a vicious circle? They would test it until it broke, then fix the broken part, then test it until it broke again? how would you know when its alright to produce a part? unless you set a certain standard where that part goes for a certain time before it fails? i dono just my $.02

A lil update? I heard back from the machine shop today. All the ARP studs are in (head and main), and they have to do a MINOR amount of machining to get the bearings to sit properly. Next thing on their list is to bore out the engine, and balance the crank shaft. Then they are gonna install the pistons/rods/bearings. Then comes cleaning up the head, and making sure it seals properly. Hopefully after that, I'll have it back. Damn i cant wait to get that engine back!!!!!

Well, I thought I would have had my engine back by the beginning of this week but the shop ran into a little problem. The piston pins that came with the forged pistons were the wrong ones, so they sent out the right size ones and now i'm just waiting on those to come in the mail.........ugh

I still can't get over the fact of how small that KA24 block looks. It looks almost like there's half the material there than my old 4g63. What is the bore on that? My eyes might just be deceiving me.

its a pretty small block lol, the piston size is 89mm stock, but my pistons are 89.5mm(like it makes a difference). The blocks also an Iron block.

It looks like that block can't weigh more than 100lbs, were you able to lift it yourself or did you need two people?
