Default Nissan GT-R Spec V

Nissan GT-R Spec V specs have been revealed.

Quote:
Amid soaring gasoline prices, there's a supercar war brewing in the land of the rising sun. Talk about irony: The big three Japanese carmakers, who were once considered the primary builders of fuel-efficient runabouts, are now trying to one-up each other with mega-performance road machines. While the next-gen NSX and Lexus LF-A are running all over Germany, Nissan has quietly finalized the performance numbers on the GT-R Spec V.

Here's what we found out: Nissan's newest supercar will have a very limited production run. Unlike the stock GT-R, the Spec V will be a 2-seater, though both models will look virtually identical. Output of the GT-R's 3.8-liter twin-turbo V-6 has been increased to 520 bhp at 6500 rpm and 440 lb.-ft. of torque peaking from 3200–5200 rpm. The Spec V will be slimmer by about 200 lb., tipping the scales at 3615 lb.

We hear that early prototypes are breaking the 7-minute-30-second barrier at the Nürburgring's Nordschleife, which makes it faster than Porsche's GT2. We expect the GT-R Spec V to be introduced in the U.S. sometime in early 2009, with a price tag of about $130,000 — almost twice the price of a stock GT-R. Will it be worth it? We'll soon find out.

Yes! I'm stoked, I can't wait to see what that thing can run officially around the ring. You guys think, if it did break 7.30 officially, that it would be worth 130k? That's a bit heavy, but 520hp!? And Nissan has been under-rating their cars to keep the feds and higher-ups happy... I also want to see this thing on a dyno in California or something...
Epic.
