Yeah, a swap like that defeats the purpose of buying an RX-7 in the beginning since half the novelty is having that Wankel rotary. I mean, what other 1.3L engines can put out over 200hp? Another bad engine swap idea is swapping a Toyota 2jz into a Honda or Nissan. It's like sleeping with the enemy.

ya i dont like the idea of swapping in rx7, but i just wanted to throw that out there. It is fantastic what you can stick into a 240sx, pretty much every engine. Here's a thought for you was reading a magazine a couple of months ago and there were showing an ae86 with a s2k motor Think about that for a little bit........ Is that your brain on the floor or did i just blow your mind hahah

That's actually rather funny. A Toyota with a Honda motor in it from a Honda that rather popular to swap a Toyota Supra motor in to. Funny how it goes around like that, haha.

Unfortunately Japan has this nasty habit of sending North America the most underpowered engines they have for a vehicle whenever they send vehicles over, so at the very least a JDM swap is required if you want to do anything huge to a Japanese car. For example, Nissan Silvias/200sx in every other country came with the SR20DE and SR20DET motors, where equivalent models in the US had a larger, more California friendly KA24E and KA24DEmotors. We get jealous of those stronger, more powerful motors
|
True, but...The KA's are truck engines, and torque monsters. Add a turbo, and you get this.

I say ka24de FTW!
