Default Automatic to Manual Conversion

Hey All,

I have a quick question to ask you mechanics out there, I'll lay it out for you;

1.) What is the intricate processes of converting a automatic truck to a manual truck?
2.) Do I need to buy another engine?
3.) Do OEM seating arrangements have anything to do with how the shifter can be placed?

Best Regards,

Jake

Best Regards,

1. Remove automatic and replace with manual transmission including clutch, fly wheel and pressure place. Best if you buy a manual out of the same make and model truck you already have.

2. No! You will need to put a pilot bushing in the end of the crankshaft.

3. Depends on the position of the shifter.

Keep in mind if you are trying to use a old manual transmission with a manual clutch instead of hydrolic it will be a nightmare to install.

Default Converting car to manual

I'm not sure if you're still interested but I was browsing online and I found a site that was describing how to about doing it. Here is the site How to convert an automatic transmission into a manual transmission - by Tommy Gambon - Helium.

If you have any questions feel free to drop me a message because I'm actually great friends with a mechanic, and I'll ask him for you.

Hope this helps,

Pearl
