If you REALLY believe this you should step away from the crack pipe!!
I will admit the DeLorean was ahead of its time in the 80's with some off the norm features. The problem was the cars were very under powered, prone to breaking down, did not handle good at all and were over priced for the time. The car was trying to compete with the exotic imports (along with be a cover for drug money) and was unable to do so.
I give it a as one of the short lived car company cars to have in a collection.

Swap in a different motor and you have yourself a stylish car that would ideally be more reliable and have enough punch to back up the looks. I'd want one in my collection even if it didn't run, just the look of it is worth having

Interesting car? yes. A design experiment? yes. 88mph top speed? yikes. It's funny for 2 minutes.. but then one has to realize how just... well lame that is. I'm not even a top speed guy, but cmon.. it's cool when the 1960s muscle cars could break 110.. but 88? no thanks. My vote goes to the record holders.. ZR1 or ACR Viper.

Well the drug part was more like DeLorean couldn't sell the damn things so he had to sell drugs to keep his company afloat

This does not indicate he did not do it. Just indicates he had a good lawyer!

Did it or not, and acquittal is an acquittal. None of us will ever know for sure because none of us were there. Even if he did do it, so what? The fact of the matter is he designed some of the most well known cars to ever hit the roads, and sure the DMC12 had its (many) flaws, people still know it when they see it, and at least some of them know that it is a Delorean. I'd still buy one, I'd swap out the engine and transaxle, update the brakes and the interior some, but I'd still buy one.

I agree with you, I'm not bashing his designs, he made countless beautiful chevy designs and the delorean. But the way he supposedly tried to keep his company afloat was not cool at all.
