Bugatti set the bar at a whole new height in the Veyron, and SSC re-raised the bar yet again in the Ultimate Aero GT. So, what's Vector got? It's called the WX8. It's the next generation of the W8TT, and it's BADASS on a whole new level. With the big block option, and appropriate gears, it will do 300mph (set for Bonneville). I have to correct you on your fastest car in 1989 and the McLaren, the fastest street legal car was the 1988 Callaway Corvette Sledgehammer, at 254.7 mph.

I said 1989, not '88. And I meant production car, not street-legal. There's a difference. In '89 the official record was held by the Ferrari F40 at 201mph. And, I was talking unofficial records. There was never a proper official calculation of how fast the W2 and W8 actually went because they both buried the speedos at 240mph. Both cars undoubtedly went over 250mph, but again, not a properly recorded figure, and unofficial. And the McLaren set the official record in '94, so maybe you misread what I typed. What I meant was Vector had built a production car that was faster than the McLaren, before the McLaren was even conceived. Having said that, if Vector had challenged the official record with the W8, then the McLaren would never have made the books at 243(ish).
