I have to agree with Johnnyboy!
A few questions!
Is the waterpump belt driven? If so how much flex is in the belt?
Does the pump have a bleed screw to release the air? This would cause the no coolant in the pump.
have you removed the belt and rotated the pump by hand to see if the impeller is rubbing the housing?
