Diagnosis Confirmed
Posted On 10/21/2008 04:16:36 by mesarius
I was out back tearing apart my old 4G63 block and tranny that has been laying in my back yard since last summer when I pulled it out since I actually had the time for once.  Pulled off the transfer case, separated the engine and transmission, removed the torque converter and started ripping into the block.  The oil pump is off, so are all of the pulleys and I started on the water pump but I ran out of sunlight.  One of the main things I did was pull off the oil pan and pop out th... The Talon is gone
Posted On 09/05/2008 23:33:42 by mesarius
I finally gave in and got rid of the Talon.  I used it today as a trade in for a new used car for myself.  I haven't signed for anything yet so I'm not sure what exactly I'll be getting, but hopefully it will be a 2001 Monte Carlo SS with 44000 miles.  I'll let you know and get some pictures up.

Now that it is finished and running I had to start worrying about other repairs it needs.  After thinking it over I felt that the car needs far more work than I have time to give it, so I opted to sell it.  I'm asking $3800 but I will take offers or trades if anyone is interested.  I'm already shopping around for a replacement, I'm deciding between an Olds Intrigue or a Grand Prix GT, both with the ledgendary GM 3800 torque... Blog Five: It lives!
Posted On 07/01/2008 21:47:11 by mesarius
Today was the big day.  We cracked at it for maybe four hours and got the Talon running.  Sorry guys but I didn't get a video of the first start up, however I can tell you that it only took 30 seconds of fuel system priming and four crank attempts to get it started.  I took it out for a drive and it drives beautifully.  It hits fuel cut or misfires or something if you floor it and one of the drive shaft bushings needs replacing, but otherwise this is the best it has ever run....
