Title: Me and my project
Tags: Plymouth Satellite Roadrunner GTX
Blog Entry: I am currently building a 1971 Plymouth Satellite Sebring Plus. It has been an adventure to say the least. It has a very well built factory mystery motor. It is a 318 block that came factory with 360 heads and what appears to be a crank shaft from a 340. We bought newly rebuilt dragracing 360 heads to put on it. Before we tore into the motor we did a compression test that revealed numbers better than that of most factory mopar big blocks (all accept the HEMI). We then put in a Luanti Hydrolic cam and double roller timing chain. Then we installed hi-performance oil and fuel pumps. The motor will be fed through a Holley 750 or 600 cfm carb on top of an Edlebrock Performer intake manifold. The Exhaust is going to be a custom built setup that will incorporate Hooker performance headers, and H-pipe and electronic waste gate valves. We are thinking the diameter of the pipe will be either 2.5 or 3 inches. The suspension is rebuilt with polygraphite and we are upgrading the original drums to slotted and drilled power disc brakes. The suspension will be an on going project. My goal is to get this car to go around a corner with little if any body sway. I want this car to be able to turn about 10 times better than when it came off of the line in early 1971. This car is my baby and I want to give her the best of everything, as you can probably see.(the big block is still a possibility. I need to make it through law school first though )
